Chandler Jones Traded

Cardinals are going to use Jones as an OLB which makes sense for them and possibly cheaper for them to resign him.

Wonder what kind of input Scar had on this.
Scar was the OL coach in 13 when Cooper was coming out and the Pats reportedly had a very high grade on him. From my quick look, he is extremely athletic but lacks the physicality and meanness of a Mankins. I expect he will compete for a starting position because we simply are not that strong up front, but despite his lofty selection, he is no Mankins or Hannah.

So I wonder if there will an accompanying BB press release commenting offering flowery thoughts on Jones?

I ask this as in absence of one would possibly indicate a potential lack of regard for the player.
Is there any reason to think he doesn't like Chandler aside the incident? He wasn't even benched so I can't imagine BB thought it was a huge deal.

I honestly felt like Jones destiny was written when we took 2 DE-like players somewhat highly on the last draft.

G. Grisson (3rd round)
D. Flowers (4th round)

If any of then can emerge, we save A LOT of money without Jones. Like people have said:

Collins, Butler and Hightower are more important IMO

To this boards credit, I think just about everyone knew where Chandler ranked in the pecking order as far as guys they needed to get resigned and supported the idea of trading him if the price was right.. a 2nd rounder + a potentially solid player at a position of need is a nice win for the team..

Good job BB! and kudos to Patsfans.com, we have a pretty stellar collective football mind on this board

No he wasnt
Yes, he was. Just because you claim otherwise doesn't make it true.

How do I know he was double-teamed? Because it happened more than half the time. Its what helped allow this team to put up so many sacks and pressures this year. Because he was drawing the double allowing other players to beat their men one on one.

One sack ( and that was a good play) but he wasn't getting that attention every game.

And you're spinning starts. You claimed he was NEVER double-teamed. Upstarter gives you proof that your claim was BS and now you change your claim. Typical..

I've seen this said by a number of folks. Maybe I'm not paying attention as much but I don't recall Chandler drawing a ton of double teams.

Its because he wasn't RW. Don't listen to that

... don't know what Cooper and the draft pick will give you...

Potential and 5mil in cap space this season (and likely avoiding a bigger cap hit in 2017+) isn't bad.

Plus the Jets don't have to worry about blocking him. ;)

Win, win, win. Zona, NE and the Jets all win.

We didn't trade our 2nd round pick, right?

Maybe we could package these 2nd rounders for a pick in the 1st and say FU to Roger Goodell :D

If Cooper comes back from his injury, it might appear like the NEP got a #2 and #1.
And if he's Eugene Chung and the #2 is Tavon Wilson, they got squat. That's why trades are better evaluated down the road after we can see what we've got.

He wasn't always double teamed. But he had a very noticeable highlight sack last year against the dolphins where he split a double team. So people saying he wasn't double teamed are straight up wrong.
