Especially if a few of them can kick inside on third downs. Can Long do that?

He can, I suppose. But he seems to do most of his damage rushing from the 5-tech.

I doubt we would offer him much more than the vet minimum

Agreed. Mainly because of the injury risk, but also because I'd be surprised if Belichick is willing to offer up any big defensive contracts that might compromise his ability to re-sign both Collins and Hightower. But yeah, if Long is willing to come cheap to rehab his value and potentially get a lot more in a year, I'm all on board for that.

Haven't we run some 4-3 with an end still lined up on the 5? Or am I just confusing that with the way our 2gap 4-3 lines up?

So any word on how the workout went? I know he still plans on making other visits...

Was wondering the same. I'd think he completes all his trips, seemed by the way it was reported that he was going to visit all suitors before making a decision.

There was some discussion on how Long took full responsibility for a down year last year. I feel thats a good indicator of where his mind is at, looking to rebound. Perfect place to build yourself back up is here. Let's hope.

With Chandler gone I hope we bring in Long. I think he'd be a nice fit here. He hasn't been especially great the last couple of years and he's 30, so he could probably be had for a reasonable contract.

He's gone.

Please no jokes serious question

It's been said from the start that he was going to visit other teams this week before making a decision. So there's nothing to worry about yet.

Free agent DE Chris Long has left his Patriots visit without a contract, and will visit the Cowboys on Tuesday evening.

Breers

He said he plans to go on all his visits this week and then make a decision at the end of them.

he is not young this is his last contract he will take his time to see what teams are offering money and years plus what the city offers his family

the cowboys are going nowhere.

long's looking for the most cash. hoodie isn't falling for that ****.

hope he makes a decision soon and not wait too Long

Does anyone know if he left town?

Probably. He said he was going to make all of his visits this week.

Seems like a smart guy and a smart FA should visit every team interested in him to see what he can get. What i would do and more FA should do.

I wonder if he will evaluate the city and schools before making his decision. I've been told he also wants to play for a winner.
