That GTD says they REALLY believe this guy fits the system.

Still hope they bring in Streater and Starks. Streater is 6'3 215 and can ran a 4.37, had a pretty good season a few years back but injury issues recently. Starks always reminded me of a CJ Anderson type RB, may run into a wall for his first few runs but he's bound to break a 40 yarder off if you stick to it.

Is he better than LaFell?

Is he better than LaFell?

Who knows, his pre-NE numbers are shying behind LaFell in Carolina, but Buffalo has lacked consistent QB play and CAR didn't use LaFell properly.

He could very well produce similarly, I may be completely off as I know little about Hogan, but I believe he's more of a slot guy, where as we used LaFell primarily outside here. Which is why I'd still love to give Rod Streater a shot here.

Edelman/Streater outside, Hogan/Amendola (if he agrees to a paycut) inside, Martin played a bit of both I believe. Doesn't look as pretty as if we got Marvin Jones but, 8m/yr was never happening.

And for those wondering, the official reason we signed Hogan:

Chris Wesseling ‏@ChrisWesseling 6m6 minutes ago
Chris Hogan’s best game in 2015: 6 catches, 95 yards vs. #Patriots Best game in 2014: 5 catches, 72 yards, TD vs. Patriots.

Awesome. Calling it right now, he's going to be an excellent Patriot. We got him cheap for this WR market, and in a couple years we'll be looking back on him as a total steal. He's a great fit here.

I'm surprised the Bills didn't stick it to the Pats and make them wait the 5 days.
Yeah I don't understand what the hurry was for. Pats traded an extra 7th rounder to get the Dolphins to just trade Wes directly to avoid that five days as I recall.

From Kevin Duffy's Article on Masslive:

" Hogan played college lacrosse at Penn State. When he was granted a fifth year of eligibility, he transferred to Monmouth to play football. He played on both sides of the ball, picking off two passes against Duquesne in his first game as a starter on defense. He also was the backup kicker and punter."

Saw someone on twitter say Bills may just be doing right by a guy they respect. Strange for football protocol, but good for all parties when every team knew the outcome already.
