Powell had 47 catches last year.
So? Forte is a better receiver than Powell. Powell had 47 catches because there was no one else to throw to, hell Ridley was the backup 3rd down back.

are you honestly telling me you think Bilal Powell is as good as Dion Lewis? Really?

I realize you think the end result of what you are asking for is silly, that's why I pointed it out.

You are saying in Free Agency we should be going after 7 million dollar a year players because our 4th and 5th WRs needed to play last year. You can't pay 7 million for a 4th WR.

You seem to not understand that when you use all of your cap and you have injuries and that means backups had to play, it 'cost you a SB' it was because you had injuries and no one has starting caliber backups. You seem to think it 'cost them a SB' because they couldn't figure out how to have an extra 30 mill of cap space to sit starters on the bench until injuries happen.

I'm literally not saying any of that, whatsoever.

Not once in this entire thread have I advocated on spending big on JAGs like Sanu. Not once.

Asking why we couldn't go 4 per on Matthews or 4 per on Forte is totally not asking Belichick to blow our entire cap on backup WRs, so I'm not seeing the point you're trying to make against me, at all....

According to the San Francisco Chronicle's Vic Tafur, the Raiders are "working on" free agent S Eric Weddle.

Shoot, it seems like bill just isnt interested in this year's free agents.

As are 75% of who this forum wants us to sign. Isn't that a fair statement?

Particularly compared to the cost.

Wallace, IMO, is not a good WR. His stats are puffed up in garbage time. He disappears a lot, then gets stats vs prevent defense. More than anything he is a loud mouth selfish player who detracts from rather than is a reason for winning.

Yes. Just ignore the fact that Wallace's stats fell drastically during his final season with Pitt..

Wallace wasn't a conversion project. Edelman was.

Wallace doesn't run routes. He just goes and tries to get open.. It's one of the biggest knocks on him.. Yet you think he could be successful here?

Again. You and facts don't get along. Never have..

Then you'd be wrong wouldn't you. In fact there has been praise in his hands and route running. He developed as he matured. Look it up.

I guess I could say the same about you and facts. Is that fair?

I'm basing it on common sense. Forte has been an every down back, and wanted out of Chicago when Lankford emerged. Why would he choose a team with a guy who will take playing time away from him?
I'm sure BB would have loved to have him and would have paid that in a heartbeat, but you can only offer, you can't make them accept.

Dude. Forte is not an upgrade over Lewis/Blount.

Yes, he can run (not as good as Blount) and catch (Not as good as Lewis) so you could argue he would be a true every down back for the Pats, so there is no way he wasn't interested in playing here. NO way.

Pats were not interested in him at that price because they've got Lewis.

Not once in this entire thread have I advocated on spending big on JAGs like Sanu. Please go back and read my posts.

You are saying we need to be active so far in FA to solve the problem that when Gronk, Edelman and Amendola were all out, we were weak at receiver.
That is a function of players being injured, not roster building. No team can build a roster that has no weakness when all the starters in a unit go down.

Rishard Matthews sucks. I wouldn't have paid 2 million a year much less 5. Sanu and Jones we paid more than double their real value. Signing them would be a mistake.
Forte was not going to come here. He wants to be an every down back, and we have Dion Lewis.

Dude. Forte is not an upgrade over Lewis/Blount.

You are confident Lewis can last 16 games? Because I am not. He's good yes..but 16 games good? DOn't count on it till it happens. His cuts are VICIOUS and take a toll on him. And a year after ACL surgery his confidence in those cuts he does may not come back for a while.

Based on last year...Forte is better than Blount no question. And IF IF Lewis lasted 16 it would be very close. But can he?

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Matt Forte would not consider the Patriots a team he wants to come to because he wants to play every down, and the Patriots have Lewis.
You are saying he would want to come here because he would be worse than the players we have so he'd be happy being a backup??????????

I hope we sign Austin Collie just to drive the board into a frenzy.

I must admit, I would really enjoy seeing this after all the incessant whining.:)

According to the San Francisco Chronicle's Vic Tafur, the Raiders are "working on" free agent S Eric Weddle.

One of the teams he would like to play for and was linked to. Not surprised

Why are you moving onto a different question. Isn't this about why Forte chose the Jets.

It was money, if it was playing time he would have chose I dunno.. a Canadian team. ;)

You can argue that he's not worth the $$, I suppose, but Lewis/Forte is a significant upgrade over Lewis/Blount.
