BB had no issue giving a low upside pure slot WR 5 years 31 million dollars in 2013. That is what is so frustrating.

Amendola was a less explosive Welker at most. That panic signing post Welker departure is still costing us 3 years later.
Yeah, I mean, all he did was play a vital role in a super bowl victory. **** him, right?

Patriots offensive point totals

2010-2012 (a/k/a with the killer)
518
513
557

2013-2015 (a/k/a can we please freakin' find another weapon?)
444
468

sure mankins in his prime and a good year or so from brian waters and two of the three elite TE's in the AFC. im all for adding talent hell i wish BB signed Forte but the Talent just dose not match the money so far in the free agent WR class, we will see what the pats do in days to come i just dont think the sky is falling as some do

They had a weakness on the back end last season, but that so called "garbage defense" finished one spot behind us (11th in the league in points allowed), and held their opponents to under 20 in more games than we did.

NE gave up 19.7 ppg

PIT gave up 19.9 ppg

you can throw all over them.

I wanted to see the Pats do SOMETHING somewhat impactful today, but honestly, with some of these contracts, I'd rather see the money go straight into Bobs pocket honestly.

BB knows what he's doing

Maybe I've missed it, but I can't recall a single poster saying or implying that the sky is falling.

Calvin Johnson comes out of retirement to join Patriots. .per sources.... stay tuned lmao.

In related news Belichick has teamed up with the theoretical physics department of MIT to create a dimensional tear from which he will pull through the 2002 versions of Randy Moss, TO, and Tory Holt into our universe. Per sources results are quote, promising.

i assume they mean twitter, Pats fans never seem to learn that smart teams dont usually spend big in free agency

The only way that happens is if the Pats fail to roll over salary cap space left over from a given year. Say whatever you want about him, but that's something AFAIK Kraft has never done. He has spent essentially 100% of the cap dollars he's been given.

you can throw all over them.

Assuming that "you can throw all over them" in the upcoming season just because they had a weakness in that area last year is a bit foolish, don't you think?

I'd have to guess that they'll be addressing their weaknesses just like we will, or any other team attempts to do via free agency + the draft. For example, they may add Weddle (or any other FA), as well as a better CB via the draft.

For the record, their fans claim that we have a major weakness at OL, WR, RB, based on last year, and they're just as wrong about making assumptions for the future.

They are badly missing a safety since Polamalu was done. Weddle would make a big difference in that secondary.

From my reading of the situation Weddle would love to play for the Pats. Maybe he will give a discount to be in Foxboro. C Johnson gave a discount to stay with the Panthers. Mathis took less money to play with the Broncos this past season. I'd rather have Weddle on the Pats than on the Steelers, that's for sure.

I know im gonna get **** for this.. But maybe now is the time to give percy harvin a 1 year or 2 year deal for 2-3 million dollars total.. I know bb has always coveted him. He is still somewhat young and is a low risk high reward type

No huge additions as expected. some big fa signings of their own to decide on down the road.. Collins,Hightower and Jones loom large. Really wish they would of got extensions on two of them before some of these ludicrous contracts were signed today.

Not too worried for this upcoming season though. If any thing I feel super confident after watching Denver get weakened in fa.

Made it to the AFC championship and probably would of won the whole damn thing if not for those last two regular season games. It's so bad that all they are getting back next year is Solder, Easley, Scar, Flowers, Develin, rookie CB Roberts looked good before going down in preseason. Just sad I tell you.

Hasn't played in more than 9 games in a season since 2011....

Pass.......

Yeah josh gordon hasnt done much better than that and everyone on this board is drooling to trade for him... Also stop being such a drama queen... He played in 13 games in 2014. Percy harvin is a zero risk type of player... I admit their is a real possibility he has lost his mind.. But you could sign him for nothing and give him a chance. He is exactly the type of player at exactly the lowest point in his career where the pats might give him a look.
