Broncos assign original round tender to CJ Anderson

If the Dollars are the same, signing Cortrelle Anderson would be Light Years smarter than signing Forte.

If you're gonna spend Money on an HalfBack, get the young, explosive guy with some Juice left in'm!!

Don't get the Video Game Hero who peaked 3 Years ago.

one is a man on the way up and the other is a man on the way down

Interesting. I'm assuming because he's a RFA as well, the penalty is the RFA tender so he wouldn't count as a UFA signing for comp pick purposes.

100% correct. Comp picks are based on UFAs. The RFA compensation is a completely different animal - and in this case, it's absolutely nothing, except possibly more cash to entice the Broncos to not match.

I really like CJ but in terms of value it is much easier to plug in a rookie RB with success than a rookie WR or OT, which are my higher priority needs for FA dollars.

Anderson absolutely destroyed us last year. If he's on our team, he can't do that anymore, plus then we have a RB.

Eh kinda, he was shut down for most of the AFCCG and didn't do anything until Hightower went out in the first game.

i would not mind Anderson if Forte signs with some other team but i think Alfred Morris and Lewis on 3rd would give the pats a better run offense

Forte is light years better lined up at WR. Remember all those missed fades to White

Forte comes down with those, sign the beast. Especially since he "just wants a ring". Which hopefully means he will come here for less.

In the reg season game he only destroyed us when Hightower went out of the game. Before he went out he wasn't doing much of anything.

Sign the Ceej and the Pats would have this:

Big Back 1: C.J. Anderson
Big Back 2: Tyler Gaffney
Receiver Back 1: Dion Lewis
Receiver Back 2: James White

And nothing would prevent the Pats from drafting a RB for Gaffney to compete with.

If the price is right, and Forte really does want to take a pay cut to play for a contender, the Pats could bring in both Anderson and Forte.

Anderson was the difference maker in the regular season match up…Pats/Broncs. Speed to turn the corners and blow by our LBs….tough to bring down.
Anderson + Forte…….now fix the O line….I dream

That needs to be tempered with the understanding that Collins didn't play at all and Hightower went out in this game. Maybe the Broncos didn't try running as much until after Hightower went out, but it still a concern..

True but he did well vs Pats in the AFCCG including that key 3oyd run on 3rd and 1 in the 4th qtr which led to a FG making it 20-12.

Hes a good RB. Pats should take a peek which I'm sure they will.

I don't see Forte signing for less than $4 million. He is still a 1000 yard back until he proves he isn't. Somebody will shell out the big cash for that. As much as I'd love to see Forte become Corey Dillon 2.0, that man has big time wear on his wheels. They could fall off any time.

Anderson is young, versatile, should be fairly cheap, and has been a Patriots killer in the past. Sounds like a Belichick signing to me. He'd be my #1 FA priority at RB.

My list:

1/1a) Forte (older)/L. Miller (pricier)

*this gap is here for a reason*

5/5a)Ivory/Martin

6) Anderson
