I'll miss you too, Peyton Manning

Now I'm really being a downer in this thread but how many would we have if not for Archie's demon spawns.

Wow, it may have been SEVEN. Holy hell.

1. brady
2. manning
3. montana
4. marino
5. favre
6. young
7. elway

my list of the best QBs i've ever seen. i can't really comment on QBs pre 1980. i'm sure baugh, graham, unitas were great, but i haven't seen them play and frankly i think QB position has evolved so much. i know montana has 4 impeccable ring, but i think peyton has done more and would've won more SBs if he had those loaded niners team.

IMO, manning completes BB/brady. manning was a great nemesis. brady/manning era will forever be remembered.

joe montana - 4 sb apps - 11 td's/0 ints

peyyton - 4 sbs apps - 3td's/5 ints

not even a comparison.

A rock solid 3rd best qb of all time.

Stats and BS aside, the 3 best QB's I've ever seen play are Joe Montana, Tom Brady, and Dan Marino.

I've never seen him play, but Otto Graham has a pretty impressive resume.

it's a team game. teams win. teams go to SB. for me, it was always hard to admit this truth, but that's just how football is.

my pop was a big niners fan. he has many video tapes of niners games. i recently rewatched some of montana's game. entire games. i was bored when i was at pop's house. honestly, it's just wasn't all that impressive. and he was given so much talent. imagine brady having the top 3-4 offense and defense every year. montana did win a SB without crazy loaded talents, but during the dynasty era, he had it so easy.
IMO montana had much more great moments than peyton. but another truth is that in a big stage, usually better teams win. peyton's big flaw is that he trusted himself too much as an offensive coordinator. sometimes it's just better to let other people do the job.

IMO brady is the only QB who has advantage over peyton. that's just me.

Could have been 9. 4 + 2 vs Eli and 3 vs Peyton. Of course assuming we win vs what ever else we would have faced.

Yes, this certainly invokes mixed reactions. His games mattered because it was fun to root against him. Osweiler doesn't even come close to invoking the same emotion and passion from opposing fans.

Peyton will be missed. Peyton and Tom needed each other though like how the Batman needs the Joker.

Agree ... I've had some good ones in my lifetime and that's the best NFL one for me.

Not quite Bird vs Magic as they did not compete 1 v 1 but still great.

So who is enemy #1 now.
Clearly, you haven't been paying attention. The 31 have the Patriots in their sights, commissioner approved. The Pats enemy is the 31.

If "of all time" means "Over the last few years", then sure.
i know manning is not perfect as a human being, but.....

only QB with 2 Super Bowl wins on different teams

4 super bowl appearances with 4 coaches

Peyton is a legend

#respect

peyton manning is a teabagging cheating phoney[hgh]. thanks for nothing. don't let the door hit you in the @ss on the way out the door. zero respect.

times fifty quintillion....

He's a cheating HGH user sexual predator who was a great regular season QB. End of story.

You'll get a mixed reaction on this, and maybe understandably so, but I'll take the high road with you on this one. I can't deny that I'll miss these match ups.

Not to worry

By October the Jets will be in a free fall QB crisis and Goodell will broker a deal with the Broncos to have Manning join his brother in NY and become yet another retread QB lead initiative to finally give the NYJ their first Super Bowl ring since Man walked on the Moon.

Bank on it

id be mad too if i spent pages berating someone over something that never happened.

No different then the NFL trying to go after Brady.

I will miss the Brady vs Manning games.

There always were the pinnacle of each season to watch, even as a Rams fan. Just have to respect two great adversaries facing off against each other.

Its like Stallone vs Snipes in Demolition Man :)

I'll miss beating him and Manning Face but that's about it

I won't miss him one iota. Never really liked his game.

Stlstoolslinger at it again...yeah yeah yeah, SHE sat on HIS face ...right..and that HGH was his pregnant wife's...who surreptitiously sent away to a now busted HGH lab when she could have gotten the same thing from her gyno for 1/100th the cost...got it...OK, here it is, Stlstoolslinger's time here is done. It is TOO STUPID to be allowed to post any more of it's idiocies.
