Rod Streater or Andre Holmes over Anquan Boldin

Rod Streater who has had 10 catches in the last 2 years and was a healthy scratch in all but 1 game last season, that Rod Streater?

Andre Holmes, that same Andre Holmes who Pats signed in and cut in the pre-season of '13?

Yes both are younger. But more talented, no.

I wouldn't mind bringing either of those guys in as camp competition for a roster spot but if it was either one of them or Boldin. I'll take Boldin for a year...

No Boldin is the kind of signing that is a big meh when a younger more talented at this part of his career.
Rod Streater or Andre Holmes over Anquan Boldin the poster who suggested involving a Chandler Jones trade for Michael Floyd is a brilliant idea.
With Tamba hali and possibly Jason Piere Paul that makes his value dip a bit I would assume

Besides his stupidity during the bye week, is there a reason why so many Patsfans are looking to get rid of Chandler Jones? It took us a long time to find a legit, durable pass rusher...I love me some Ninko but how many years do we have left of him?

Future looks bright with Tre Flowers and Jabal Sheard
Geneo Grissom is a wildcard but if he grows into his frame could be something special.
Plus Chandler will command 9 to 15 million a season, combined with lack of a deep threat no 1st rounder, you have a recipe for trading Jones while his value is high and reward could trump what he brings.

Its a typical pats fan forum "hes a bum we can do better" mindsets. although not as frequnt as 5-6 years ago, still pop up. The same conclusion was reached about edelman, gronk, brady, ninko and a few others i can't recall off the top of my head. All it took for edelman to fall out of favor years ago was to mess up a punt return. he didn't fumble the ball, he just didn't get the yardage some here thought he should of. Ninko missed a tackle against the fins on a monday night game allowing a fish reciever to gain extra yardage. it doesn't take much to fall out of favour.

#1 Jabaal Sheard
#2 People want Hightower, Collins and Butler to get extensions which probably means Jones is gone unless he takes a discount so they think instead of letting him walk and getting only a 3rd or 4th round comp pick why not trade him if you could get a 2nd/low 1st round pick in a draft where your first pick doesn't come until the end of he 2nd.
#3 He's a very streaky player... He'll go on a run of 4-5 games where he looks like an elite pass rusher and then he'll go on a run of 6-7 games where you wonder if he even played.

I'd sign him. Always liked the way he played.

A good depth option that can be dependable.

Boldin can still ball. Yes please. Of course it's not a long-term fix so it's not the type of exciting "look what toy Brady has for the next 3 years" signing but for 2016, absolutely.

He is physical, he can still CATCH THE DAMN BALL when it's thrown to him, and he's fast enough and smart enough to get separation and get to the ball one way or the other.

His 7.00 3-cone was disappointing but I'd be pleased with drafting Shepard - he's a very good, albeit limited, receiver. I'm leaning more towards Miller, Peake or Mitchell currently but that will depend on FA.
I like Miller a lot but I think he'll be gone by our pick.

I've always loved Boldin. Would like him as a cheap WR2 option, but still think Pats need to take their chance with a young WR as well.

It's called GDTS...Game Day Thread Syndrome, please stop those you love from being affected by it.

Hasn't Bolden voiced his dislike of the Patriots in the past?

Sounds awesome if it was 2012

Sure, because after 2011 (57 catches) and 2012 (65 catches) he really took a steep drop.... ;)

2013--85 catches

2014--83 catches

2015--69 catches

If he came cheap, I think Boldin could be a solid fit here.

If he were bigger, I'd say look to him as a TE2. Since he's not, and he's not the OWR they need, I don't see a fit for him in New England.
