Anyone know Bills cap situation? I only ask because if in fact McCoy is dropped and or in Jail. Buff just became in the market for a RB..Miller..Forte ect But the only thing Forte would win in Buffalo is a pat on the back for a "good effort" in a 31-17 L to the pats..again

Not sure McCoy is going to be the one in trouble in this situation. Stay tuned...

According to a source close to McCoy, one of the off-duty officers approached McCoy's table. The story continues that the officer believed the bottle of champagne that was given to McCoy's party was meant for the officers.

Carucci's story then says the following occurred:

Butler walked over to McCoy’s table, and grabbed a bottle of champagne that the police officer believed was ordered for their table, the source said. Porter then confronted Butler, and the two began fighting. When McCoy saw that Butler had his hands around Porter’s neck, the source said, McCoy jumped in and threw a punch at Butler that missed.

The story from a source close to McCoy does explain the "sucker punch" that McCoy may have thrown, but it also shows that one of the off-duty officers is responsible for starting the fight.

Report: Off-duty officer instigated fight

why would air pressure fluctuations in a football conform to the Ideal Gas Law?

Barfalo fan ALWAYS has the "right " answer...just NEVER on this planet

Police word against yours. 3 AM.

Except the cops in this case were off duty, drunk, and possibly even involved in instigating the incident. To take it one step further, they didn't follow the usual and necessary protocol in terms of calling it in, etc. That's a big red flag, and possibly has something to do with why charges are still being considered; otherwise, they'd have brought the case forward days/weeks ago.

Why would it be relevant that they were cops?

Normally, it's VERY relevant due to the position of authority that they hold. Their word is considered to be very good, which is why they're able to testify without witness and place offenders behind bars based on their side of the story alone.

As a matter of fact, is there any position known to man where someone's word has more pull than a police officer, other than maybe a priest or nun?

The cops were low life's also But, they were cops.

Who cares really? If Mccoy keeps those hours, drunk and smashes people, he eventually will find trouble.

3 AM, indeed.

Go smash an off duty cops skull at 3 am, then you can tell me.

Judges love good stories too, I'm sure the cops also have one.

Good lawyers work better, though.

DA won't even bring the case if there's a possibility a suit could be brought against the city. They're just not going to open the police department to a possible lawsuit. If it was you or me, sure, but McCoy has plenty of money to spare to make their lives a living hell.

DC residents know plenty about piss drunk off-duty cops starting fights. Avoiding the bars during Police Week is a very smart strategy, because there's enough testosterone and daddy issues in every bar to blow up a volcano. The local cops call it Hell Week.

Could say that it's worse that they were cops FOR THE COPS. They should be held to a higher standard if they're cops, right? Sounds like they put themselves in that situation, regardless of the details.

Not that anyone knew they were cops at the time...just another three asswipes at the club, drinking at nearly 3 AM. They weren't on duty, and probably didn't announce they were cops. They aren't above the law, nor are they above lying to protect their hides after the fact. Being cops, why didn't they immediately report this?

I don't know about you, but I would expect to get beat up if I grabbed somebody's expensive bottle of booze and then started choking a guy over it, if that's what happened. That's one story. I wouldn't idly stand by if my friend was getting choked by somebody who just nabbed his bottle, either...if that's what happened. It's hard to say what damage McCoy did personally to any of theses cops, who are clearly better people than you or I.

Whoever started this should take the brunt of the blame, as far as I'm concerned. That's not an easy thing to prove in a bar fight...but just because you lose a fight doesn't automatically make you the victim. I don't know how many of you people have actually been in a bar fight or even have the frame of reference of having witnessed one from start to finish.

Speaking of lawyers, McCoy's is saying that he was sober. While possible, I find that a little hard to believe.

Just because one side may have initiated it, it doesn't mean the other side has a license to beat the hell out of them and stomp on their heads. Your argument is ridiculous.

So you haven't been in a bar fight then?

I didn't say they have license.

That's just what happens. You don't just punch a guy and hope he got the message. He's liable to retaliate until he can't anymore...duh. As if there are rules in an all-out brawl...especially when you factor on how unreasonable people get after having been drinking until 3 AM.

I don't think you understand my argument at all.

Your argument is easy to understand, but it lacks maturity and the expectations of a reasonable society. It sounds like that of a drunk twenty year old experiencing roid rage.

Cry me a river.

Maturity and reasonability get thrown out the window at 3 AM in a bar fight. Don't be a baby. Nobody in this scenario is a saint. You want to play the game these people were playing in that club, and you get what you get. That's all. There are ideals, and then there is reality.

Except for the people involved, nobody will ever likely know what really happened in this fight, especially who instigated it. I expect that cops and football players are two of the more aggressive factions of society, wouldn't you? Otherwise, they would not be good at their jobs, ask me.

Also, if you want to speak about reason and maturity, you would hope that the police would be up there on your list of people that display these qualities, wouldn't you? I know I would. Personally, I've seen first-hand otherwise, and I'm not dumb enough to hold football players to the same standards.

Extremely clever.

Probably proves you're right, too...as if I attacked anyone here in any way. Or you've even reflected that you understand what I'm talking about...don't think you have.

Yeah, I'm THAT picture alright. If you say so...

I'm very likely tougher than you, though, considering the the things you've said. You don't go crying to anyone when these things happen...then again, you probably would. Lose or win.

Try pulling some **** on me or attack one of my friends, then try to hide behind your ****.

" Try pulling some **** on me or attack one of my friends, then try to hide behind your ****."

Pats fans are , for the most part, far too intelligent to attempt to "pull some ****" on the profoundly ******ed. THAT is a federal crime if I'm not mistaken.

LOL, this isn't about me whatsoever.

Read this or do not respond. Inform yourselves.

Why "Shady" May Walk | Big Trial | Philadelphia Trial Blog

According to witnesses here, the big bad-ass intoxicated cop started it by grabbing Shady's friend by the throat and body-slamming him to the ground...at which point, Shady got up and threw ONE PUNCH or whatever to help his friend, which may or may not have even connected. Then he was dragged out of the melee.

Lots of other details in this article. READ IT instead of attacking me if you want to get to the bottom of the truth...that IS what you want to do, right?

COULD BE THAT THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED.
