Curran was told if Brady admits guilt then league will consider returning picks

if goodell gives back the picks i will consider not going "peyton manning" on him if i ever run into him.

Not gonna lie.. If I found out that terrorists took over the NFL exec plane, I might have to root for the terrorists. My hatred for those "men" is immensely deep.
If only they could be captured and featured in an ISIS video. Surely someone in that organization could confuse America's love for football with love for Goodell.

F the picks

We'll keep winning without eme

That's probably the best attitude to take at this point. We still have 3 picks in the top 3 rounds, with a team that's generally well stocked with few real "needs" as it is.

"Wire" Brady when he meets with Goodell at Vito's Pizza Shop and then spill the beans on the NFL Cabal and the merry bunch of misfits..

What goes around, comes around..

No (in the tone Belichick used when on the Letterman show when Dave told Bill Bill knew what happened re: Deflategate)

No....

Only if Manning admits to using HGH and assaulting that woman. And Von Miller admits to doing drugs and cheating on his drug test.

Sing along: One of those things is not like the others.

This is what I have been saying, and have been called out on,. Is that it's highly unlikely that Kraft will sue for the draft picks back, because they basically sign a waiver that they will not sue their own partners.

I think this is about the NFL just wanting to get "something" for their $10M or whatever it is they've spent on this farce. They already got destroyed in court and will likely lose the next round as well.

$10M that could have gone to better officiating and other things that really would improve the integrity of the game.

Hey Rog, if you hold your breath for just 1 hour not only will the world rejoice but Tom promises to admit his guilt.
Talk about a good trade - a false admission of guilt for the demise of the Clown Commish.

No, no, no Bob we only said we would "consider" it.

Fool Bob once you're a fool.
Fool Bob twice he IS a fool.
Fool Bob three times and the Jonathan era has officially begun and you can reach Bob at the Al David House for owners who have lost it.

Apparently the Omissioner felt that HGH-gate and Teabag-gate are garnering far too much attention and he's trying to remind everyone of the evil Patriots and The laws of Physics in this Universe -gate.

Translation:

"Look, we know you did it. We know you did, and frankly, your story just doesn't make sense. It doesn't add up with the evidence. Just tell us what we want to here. Tell us the truth. Otherwise, you're going to fry... If you can't tell us the truth, what really happened, then I can't help you. It's going to be much, much worse for you. So...just admit what you did, and we'll do whatever we can to be lenient on the penalty. But it all starts with you. You have to tell us the truth. Let's go over your story again..."

I'm a bit surprised how long this thread has gone, since it was clear that the fans here "got it" from the first page on, and the next 4 pages was essentially, "your are right and I agree". ;)

This is can be only one of three things. 1) A "league source" leaking this to Curran to "test the waters". 2) A bogus tip to Curren to punish him for his anti-league office positions. 3) It never happened.

In the end none of it matters since the entire premise is ridiculous as its been pointed out over and over again through the 5 pages (so far) of this thread. Besides the draft picks can never be a negotiation point at this time since to give them back would destroy the league's already tenuous appeals case.

But what it should show Tom Brady is how desperate the league is to do 2 things. 1) Ruin his legacy 2) Make this go away.

No amount of evidence, lack of evidence of a crime, and common sense is going to get those draft picks back. I have finally come very late to that conclusion. The vast majority of owners simply want to make the Pats play on an unlevel playing field, and Goodell is their willing proxy.

The fact is that losing the #1 pick will matter very little over the next few years. Sure it will hurt down the road, but about half of all first round picks have limited success to begin with. The Pats can easily survive missing the 29th pick, especially next year. They have a very young and talented defense that will only get better. The have young offense that when healthy can be very good, and they have the GOAT at the most important position in the game.

But that being said, the NFL, without any evidence of any kind, simply pulled a dirty trick on the Pats in order to try and bring them back to the pack. Any chance the media has to call them on this obvious power play, should be taken. Roger Goodell should not be allowed to make any public appearance WITHOUT being called on it, and made to defend his defenseless position. That is all we have to hope for at this point.

Thanks for listening to my rant. I will now go back to my hibernation ;).

If Brady ever admitted guilt it would become unbearable to go on any football board again. Its bad now but Pats fans have a dominating online presence and are well able to inundate the goobers with the facts.
As meaningless as a slight air loss in the ball is, it has become the epic scandal of all time garnering world news headlines. Any admission even coerced would destroy all the great things the Pats have done over the years.

For Ken and those of us believing this to be true, what prevents the envious powerful, influential owners from doing something else yet again in an attempt to derail the Patriots?

If they could hold a grudge from 2001 to 2015 resulting in a completely trumped (heh!) up charge, why won't they seeth from 2015 to 2016-17 and come up with more buffoonery? Please don't tell me that the complicit and totally dependent SPORTS media will call them on it.

Why do you think the vendetta is over?

I'm imagining one of those Hitler Finds Out things coming out next Feb after the Pats win another SB despite being docked draft picks again.
