I thought Harvin signed a 1 year deal? EDIT: Looks like it was a 3 year deal but had an option this year, supposedly constructed for a small 2015 cap number and big cap numbers the consecutive two years.

I wonder if Bill still would be interested in bringing Harvin here. He tried last year and Harvin idiotically chose Rex...

That would very much seems to violate the principle of targeting the players who feel that football is very important to them.

Percy seems to have other issues/interests, maybe because he has always been hurt. He showed some serious burn when young, but I'd pass now.

sign the beast!!!

Offseason plan: sign Marvin Jones, sign Percy Harvin, sign Martellus Bennett, sign Matt Forte & trade for Josh Gordon. Offense solved

if bennett is cut, then we should go all out and get him...

jerod retired, cut cannon/chandler and we have some free $$$

joique Bell Cut, could be a decent power back to replace blount?

We also need offensive line help to "solve" the offense, so lets not get crazy going exclusively after shiny hood ornament skill players. I like the idea of Bennett and Forte. Not so crazy about Harvin or Gordon. On the fence about Jones.

Yeah I was just kidding around. Or was I?

Ivory > Ridley > Blount. With White and Lewis we have our receiving back situation in good shape it's just a matter of adding a real back. Not sure Ivory will come at the price we want to pay, though.

In all seriousness yeah I would try to bring in a vet guard and/or bring back Wendell on the cheap... I think they'll look at a tackle in the draft, I think Waddle can be a good reserve tackle and allow them to cut bait with Cannon.

I like the idea of Forte and Bennett as well, I could get behind Harvin if Bill wanted him but otherwise I am not eager to get him. I am eager to make a move for Gordon, and I would like Jones but not at too high a price tag which I think he will probably command.

Yeah, I like the idea of Forte but they could certainly do well with Ivory & Lewis as top backs and White as a pure receiving back... Ivory is great at moving the pile which seems like it would be a good fit here but as you said, Forte could honestly be cheaper.

Regarding the draft. Not having that 1st rounder hurts more now with Mayo retiring because it's another spot the Pats need to fill. They need someone who can back up at both OT spots but be groomed to start in a couple of years. And that's going to be hard to find in the 2nd round. yes, the Pats can move up from the end of the 2nd round, but they are going to have to hope they find another Sebastian Vollmer-type pick that is flying under the radar for most other people.

WR is going to depend a lot on what the Pats do with LaFell and Dobson. If they keep them and let them fight it out in TC, then it's likely that we'll see a 3rd/4th rounder in the draft.. if they cut them, then we'll see the Pats make a splash in the FA market with someone like Marvin Jones. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pats brought back Leonard Hankerson either.
