New York Daily writer uncovers Peyton's true persona

Eli is the only one that seems alright, I think the refusal to play for the Chargers was more on Archie than it was Eli.

Well the story is that Ernie Accorsi wanted Eli BAD and yes, Archie did not want Eli playing for run-oriented Schotsie and that sad sack franchise in SD

tbf about it, that's some guy's life -- I don't blame anybody for improving their situation if they have the means.
if your company transferred you to alaska and you said **** that, are you a terrible person for refusing to go?

One thing's for sure, Peyton must have done something. When there's smoke there is always fire no matter what evidence might say.

He did enough to lie under oath, have the school and Archie try to cover it up, defame this woman subsequently destroying her career and paying her a ton of cash to keep quiet.

Don't misunderstand me. I have no issue with Eli not wanting to play in SD.

This story would have more merit if it wasn't written by a white guy that constantly lies about being black.
I'm not defending PM just saying a lot of people will discredit the story based on who wrote it
No doubt. King is the king of race baiters.

I'm saying Florio is trying to put Peyton in a bit more of a positive light by saying the court documents were biased, but did not do the same for Brady when he was slammed by equally biased court documents.

Yep. I agree. The most damning thing is the sealed documents per Pey Peys request. Florio tries to deflect the truth by introducing her lawyers in the same sentence. It had nothing to do with her lawyers. It was Pey Pey. That fact has zero to do with this document.

Pey Pey doesn't go number 1 overall had these allegations been fully investigated and most likely prosecuted. How history would have changed.

"He told his father, Archie, "she's kind of trashy," and "had the most vulgar mouth of any girl he'd ever seen" and "was unattractive but had big breasts" and had "been out with a bunch of black guys" and "had a toilet mouth.""

After reading these comments I immediately thought she's more likely classy, polite, professional, attractive and moral and Peyton probably had a huge crush on her.

And just to clarify I am not discrediting the story but as someone who reads the NY Daily pretty much daily this guy's mo is to generate clicks by being a race baiter.

Florio was tremendously critical of the NFL's statements and documents, including the Wells Report, during the deflategate idiocy. It would be tough to think of a more prominent national reporter or commentator that was a better ally to our cause than Florio.

Also, he is being responsible when he informs the reader: "Here is the 74 page document. Keep in mind that this was filed by plaintiff's counsel and is not a court's judgment or finding of fact, so take that for what it is worth."

(I am not saying it isn't true, I am just saying that plaintiff's counsel is, by definition, a biased party)

"Crush" might be the wrong word, but it would be consistent with the notion that he made some sort of advances to her previously, i.e. "the 1994 incident."

Florio's take is stupid. He's saying "oh, yeah, well it's a one-sided document! It was written by the accuser's lawyers! Of course it paints the defendant in a bad light!"

So, exactly the same as the Wells Report, right?
No, no, no. Per the NFL, the Wells report is independent, at least in some of their versions.

Yes and no.

It appears that Peyton and Archie Manning thought Naughright would accept what they did to her quietly. They were wrong. This time, she did file suit against Peyton Manning, Archie Manning, the ghostwriter John Underwood, and the publisher Harper Collins. Manning and his lawyers asked for the case to be dismissed, but Polk County Circuit Judge Harvey A. Kornstein not only denied the motion but put Peyton Manning, his father, and the others on blast. In his statement, he said:

"Even if the plaintiff is a public figure, the evidence of record contains sufficient evidence to satisfy the court that a genuine issue of material fact exists that would allow a jury to find, by clear and convincing evidence, the existence of actual malice of the part of the defendants.

"Specifically, there is evidence of record, substantial enough to suggest that the defendants knew that the passages in question were false, or acted in reckless disregard of their falsity. There is evidence of record to suggest that there were obvious reasons to doubt the veracity of Peyton Manning's account of the incident in question. The court further finds that there is sufficient evidence to permit the conclusion that the defendants entertained serious doubts as to the truth of the passages in this case."

In other words, Judge Kornstein said that there is evidence to support the conclusion that Peyton Manning lied in his book about the incidents and knew that he was lying about the incidents.

I think it was a lot more serious than an "advance".

So serious that it is sealed.

Is that a sweeping sound I hear?? Sweep it all right under the rug there Breer.

Nothing new and all one sided, so, let's just put it all away for another 16 years and forget that it ever happened, again, right Albert?

"I've read the NY Daily News story on Manning twice. Lots of people look bad. But not sure there's much balance to it, or much new in there."

It's a story showing a history of lying to cover his wrongful actions, which is counter to the squeaky clean image following the HGH story. Breer is a coward with his head intentionally buried in the sand...

Agree completely.

Go easy on Breer. Hes too busy adding to the 1,807 pictures of boots and snow to his Twitter account.

My dog has more journalistic instinct than him.

Or he does and his bosses told him to lay off....

Maybe both.

All of them are scum. Why i hated him winning this last one
