The more time that goes on, the more I have trouble rooting for Kraft

Again it's not the outcome of any lawsuit that matters... most of us understand the predicament Kraft is in on that front... but the message sent DID and DOES matter. Goodell didn't force Kraft to say what he said, he could have defended his team and wrongly chose not to.

Most people are not interested in digging further for truth if it's not their team... and I'm guilty of that too, I know what I felt about the Saints and Bountygate and once I become informed about that story I felt a lot differently about them. Most people won't bother with that. Its all about the quick take, the soundbite and the message that gives people the basis of their opinion. Kraft and the Patriots PR team should have known that. Instead..."We accept the punishment and will not appeal".... while that certainly does send a message loud and clear it sure isn't one that paints Brady and the team in a favorable light and now we have the perception of a big fat asterisk on our team's legacy whether we like it or not.

Kraft screwed up but he can still try to fix that mistake. Here's hoping.

Whoa. You cannot compare Mark to Jonathan.

I'm not one to use an image of a haircut to judge someone but Come on. Something is mentally wrong with the dude on the left. No one sports a bowl cut like that.

They are not judging Mark Davis because of his dad its because of that bowl cut. hahaha

They are. The Titans owner said as much. Doesn't anyone follow anything other than their own teams news?

I'm not optimistic based on what we've seen, or in this case, not seen. In 76 days, part of the punishment (draft picks) will be finalized and an injustice will be permanent, as if it wasn't before.....The adage is that, " the squeaky wheel gets the grease" and all we've heard is silence. This is a battle that should have been fought on two fronts, versus the league office and in the court of public opinion, the PR battle. For a franchise that is usually run so well, I am shocked that the PR aspect was handled so poorly, unless......unless it was intentional to roll over and say " we accept the penalty" in an attempt to reduce the impending penalty for Brady. when they realized it didn't work, they should have been screaming from the mountaintops about the injustice and continued screaming to this day... Otherwise, it is a tacit admission of guilt or a belief that Brady was guilty.. That is how it plays out, outside New England where I live ....Innocent men fight even when the cause is hopeless....if your reputation means anything to you.......
Will it get the draft picks back, probably not but it makes it uncomfortable for the league and shines a lights on the rodents and as they say, sunshine is the best disinfectant. Though for the league office, I think you'd need to drown it in Chlorine for a year..........

LOL........Queeg

boo-hoo.......I don't like the owner because he didn't make pointless noise to make me happy

my argument is not paranoid at all.......it is rational......yours is not

since he obviously doesn't give a crap what the public like you thinks, you should change teams because this owner isn't going anywhere

stay miserable, my friend...........I've moved on

Is there a rule that you have to be a douche when you have a discussion with anyone?

It would not have been pointless. My entire argument is why it would have been worthwhile. Clearly when you are in a partnership of 32 and are being singled out by the employee of the 32, making your case to the other 31 is nothing but common sense.
Your problem is you dismiss action because you think you know what the result would have been.

Even if the result would have been the same thing as we have today, I would still say the effort was worth it because there was absolutely nothing to lose by doing so, and the cost is exhorbitant.

Other than 'he would have lost anyway' which is conjecture and you have no basis to know, what reason could you possibly offer to not appeal, and to not reach out to his partners to gain allies in his fight against being unjustly punished? There is none.
My argument isn't he should have figured out a way to get Goodell reverse, my argument is he should have tried.

Your argument is 'do nothing, you can't win' which is totally irrational. Unless you think we should quit and forfeit when we are behind 2 TDs because its hard, and the chances are small, then why should we give up picks without trying? It is not at all rational to do so, and your argument is based on 'everyone is against us so why even try' which is paranoia by definition.

I'm not sure why you would say I'm miserable, or that you have moved on.
I have no misery, I am just looking at the end result and recognizing that Kraft failed his team.
You clearly haven't moved on, because you are still posting about it, and even tossing insults at people BECAUSE they disagree with you. That is not moving on. You miss on this point too. Not a good thread for you, probably a good idea to be done.

LOL.....you're the one tossing insults here, not me

you pick countless ways to say the same thing and many many many words more than are needed.......and yet there is not a shred of basis to your claim: Even if the result would have been the same thing as we have today, I would still say the effort was worth it because there was absolutely nothing to lose by doing so, and the cost is exhorbitant.

you're the douche......besides anger, there is zero basis to your claims

LOL @ your little posse of likers and dislikers........though I need to be wary of the Braveheart guy and his middle aged quips

I don't think you understand the topic.

What would you like for 'basis' of it was worth trying because there was nothing to lose and a lot to gain? It's common sense.
See, when I brought up 'no basis' it was when you were claiming you knew how everyone involved would react. You are saying you can read peoples minds, I am saying trying to fight an unfair penalty is better than putting your tail between your legs.

I'm not even sure what point you are trying to communicate other than you don't like people having opinions different than yours, so you have to respond with snark and strawmen because you have no valid response.

In any event, I will end it with Kraft blew it, and its blatantly obvious, and you don't like that fact.

you have no idea what a fact is
I know it is a fact that you said you were done a few posts ago.

And, yes,it is a fact that Kraft blew, he even admits it himself.

The good old, if I keep saying it, it may become true, tactic, I see.
Best approach you have taken yet in this thread. I'm going to stop posting before you threaten to hold your breath until someone agrees with you.

Yes, "Noise" by Kraft would have been pointless.
That however does not mean that Bob had to roll over supine and meekly "accept whatever punishment" the ever jealous owners pressured their sock puppet to inflict was the proper response.

A simple statement that the facts of this case show that nothing whatsoever outside of the laws of physics occurred and I stand by my quarterback in whom I have the utmost personal trust. A little further, state that I do not accept any penalty for a non event as just, but our league rules prohibit our taking legal action as an owner, would add frosting to the cake.

Two results:

1. The owners have no deterrent whatsoever inhibiting their next bullying of an easily bullied owner. What's next????

2. Folks Googling the event years from draw very very different conclusions from his complete and utter submission without any demurral vs a calm statement suggested above.

so where is this fact that said 'I was done'?

maybe if you got something right, you'd have a point....but you didn't, so you don't

keep pouting about kraft.......it is so much like you

It's called an Analogy, genius. ;)

01 ~ Chamberlain's Appeasement enabled Hitler. Instead of leading an Alliance to stand up to and perhaps apply external pressure that would lead to the Bastard getting overthrown or at least internally contained, Chamberlain cowered in the face of Hitler's bluster, signed a Treaty abandoning CzechoSlovakia and delivering that Country up to Hitler, and thus opened the way for the Nazis to become strong enough to launch World War II, thus directly contributing to the unspeakable Terrors that ensued.

02 ~ Likewise ~ although everyone but you understand that this is understood to be on a far smaller scale ~ Kraft's bending over and taking it from Goodel ~ without even the Decency of a CRA ~ is an Engraved Invitation for further Depredations.

03 ~ Nobody's saying Goodel's not the Greater Evil. Kraft is weak, not evil.

04 ~ We're pointing out that Kraft's Abdication enabled him and enabled Patriot Haters.

05 ~ Only drooling Idiots fail to get that. Get it?? ;)

I feel like I'm addressing a 4 Year Old, here...The Short Bus kind!!
icon_lol.gif
So you believe Chamberlain coud have stopped WWII from happening? Revisionist history with a very warped veiwpont. Just as in this pathetic analogy with him and Kraft.

Did you know Chamberlain remained a key member of Churchills staff and was the one who actually declared war on Germany?

Nevermind, history is obviously not your strong suit.

If you need to resort to drooling idiot, 4 year old and short bus insults to back up your arguments that says more about you then it does me.

I know this guy isn't exactly a credible source but hopefully there's a whistle of truth to this. I don't care if there's a 0% chance that they would win such a fight... even the gesture would would go a long way to fix the damage that Kraft did last May.

Spot on. Pointless noise. Yelling to the sky, stamping your feet and soapbox blustering would not have changed Goodell's ruling. How pointless is his appeal? Yet he continues, unabted by logic and reason.

Kraft's handling of this, no matter how dissappointing, would have had no effect. Like the haters were going to stop hating and the leak-driven smear campaign would have stopped. Yeah, right.

The "I'm mad and I'm suing everybody!" approach could have had even worse repurcussions, who knows? It certainly wouldn't have changed Goodell's ruling, that much is plainly obvious.

When this appeal falls flat is the window of opportunity. Imagine if Kraft does take the LO office to task after Mar. 3. Kraft haters in this thread will have a whole bunch of egg on their faces.

That would be delicious.;)

Wasn't the penalty for this (even though they never, ever, not even once, in the history of the NFL ever took halftime readings) supposed to be a $20,000 fine? And Kraft accepts a first rounder + without a fight? Unjustifiable.

everybody's a tough guy with what they would do from behind a keyboard

the picks are gone.....the only fact that matters

so I don't have to watch day 1....big deal......the guys they are getting at the end of round 2 show up as much as the ones at the end of round 1
