If one wanted to be a mean-spirited cynic (not me, certainly), one could suggest that Kraft screwed his team out of a shot at its fifth Super Bowl title in favor of the big Winter Classic payday.

Yeah...and the Bruins wasted it too. How did the Bruins get a 2nd Winter Classic so soon anyways? I enjoyed it but, it really wasn't fair. Just like the Jets hosting two Thanksgivings in like a 3-4 year span...

A year ago...i.e., before Kraft's infamous San Francisco Cave In to the other owners...I would have really cared that he said this and thought that he was playing the role of an engaged owner by sending a clear message to Belichick that he didn't like the way the season ended, a message that I would have assumed he had already delivered to him in private behind closed doors. But, now I think he's just trying to curry favor with fans because he's figured out that that is how so many of them feel.

On the substance, I agree with those who point to the Philly game as the major problem. I also agree that the O-Line was in such bad shape in Miami that they probably should have just sat Brady if they were going to execute a game plan that seemed designed to put him at minimum risk anyway...

Playing a hot mess like Miami at Gillette last game of the year vs. in S. Florida is such a difference in psyche for both teams. How often have teams folded here week 17 with nothing to play for. Instead, the Fish played in front of their home crowd in temperatures they are more acclimated too. The Pats were the team going through the motions.

Yes I have, and in this case it doesn't apply from winning a coin toss in OT and electing to defer or vs Miami to call plays like running on 1st 2nd and 3rd down and not being aggressive with players that were on'da field and if they shouldn't have been playing why are they out there? Mind as well called plays like 10 step button hook, down & out at hydrant c'mon we had enough to get it done or at least TRY!

Did he mean he regretted it in terms of the financial loss of having to travel vs. host a playoff game?
Or did he mean he regretted we had to play on the road where we historically haven't fared well in the playoffs?
Either way, it is over...and I wish I something to look forward to in first round of the draft.
