The more time that goes on, the more I have trouble rooting for Kraft

Have a ball. The rest of us residing in reality will continue to be critical.

Ok, you worry about the past and future, I'll stick with the present. On to 2016.

He went completely off the rails...again.

No question about that. Speculating here but if Krafty filed an appeal then someone like Tags or an independent arbiter comes in and IF the ruled against Goody again that "weakens the 32".

If Kraft took his case to them, if Kraft fought like a reasonable person should have, a vast majority would know.
Look Goodell looks like a total buffoon with his understanding and statements regarding this. He speaks for them. I'm sure they would rather have a representative who is viewed as smart, fair and thoughtful than this.

Totally agree they were ambivalent and it was his job to get them involved, and show them why it was in their best interest.

In theory, yes. One would hope....

I don't buy the idea that the owners hate us cuz they aint us.

Well, if we believe any of what Curran and Florio had to say there are a few owners (Irsay, Woody Biscotti) who feel the Patriots cheat and are pissed off TB12 has a cheap contract and have a competitive advantage over them. Instead of looking inward at why their team sucks and loses to NE they'd rather stab them in the back.

The fact that people are trying to compare Krafts role in losing draft picks to Chamberlains role in the most horrific event in the history of the human race is idiotic......and a bit terrifying.

Hmmm...let's see. How can we compare the deaths of 60 million people to the loss of 2 draft picks.....oh, yeah. That's a totally rational correlation.

It's called an Analogy, genius. ;)

01 ~ Chamberlain's Appeasement enabled Hitler. Instead of leading an Alliance to stand up to and perhaps apply external pressure that would lead to the Bastard getting overthrown or at least internally contained, Chamberlain cowered in the face of Hitler's bluster, signed a Treaty abandoning CzechoSlovakia and delivering that Country up to Hitler, and thus opened the way for the Nazis to become strong enough to launch World War II, thus directly contributing to the unspeakable Terrors that ensued.

02 ~ Likewise ~ although everyone but you understand that this is understood to be on a far smaller scale ~ Kraft's bending over and taking it from Goodel ~ without even the Decency of a CRA ~ is an Engraved Invitation for further Depredations.

03 ~ Nobody's saying Goodel's not the Greater Evil. Kraft is weak, not evil.

04 ~ We're pointing out that Kraft's Abdication enabled him and enabled Patriot Haters.

05 ~ Only drooling Idiots fail to get that. Get it?? ;)

I feel like I'm addressing a 4 Year Old, here...The Short Bus kind!!

You don't need to have a precedent to sue over something that has not happened before.
But there is no point in talking about legal remedies when Kraft chose to not even attempt to follow the first steps of the process of appealing the decision.
Kraft chose to not fight because he felt that the Patriots losing the picks was best for the other 31 teams. In fact, other than a lame press conference he didn't really even object.
as I stated before the reason it would be difficult to sue the NFL is because there is no CBA that the NFL has violated in regards to the monetary penalty and draft picks. Its the same reason that Shawn Peyton wasnt able to recoup his money or get his 1 year suspension overturned for bountygate; the coaches dont have a CBA like the players do.

That's disgusting to cheat on spouse no matter what is the age of the relationship

What?

Please don't use Google translator.

So your argument is that you once heard someone suggest he should do things that would be stupid so therefore he is justified to do nothing?
Weak. Very weak.

I was referring to what fans wanted him to do and how that was stupid, that seems like a pretty obvious thing to get out of what I said, what exactly is it that you wanted him to do? As I said before, suing the league would have been nearly impossible there are a bunch of sources that show exactly why that is but you will likely just dismiss it and say "well he should have done something". The guy was instrumental in saving football in New England but you want him out because he didn't sue over something there was no way he was going to win. Kraft has legal people that are much much smarter than you and they probably told him the exact thing I said, he wasn't going to be able to undo the BS punishment through a lawsuit.
There is also the fact that this is all a year old we as a fan base should move on; the fans whining on this forum come across as pathetic as those jets fans and the other haters we love to mock. Stop crying and move on.

Exactly. The Brady to Canton narrative will undoubtedly mention psi and columnists & voters will cite the owner's non-defense in their passive-aggressive writings.

Oh yeah. The media whores and rats will play this fiddle until the strings break because all of the butt-hurt haters feed off of it, lies or no lies.

Are you seriously telling me that Kraft has no obligation to his paying fans?

He's obligated to hire people who can put a competitive team on the field. He has more than fulfilled that obligation. Further, he's obligated to provide the fans with a clean, safe, venue, access to it, and parking. All of which he did.

"The New England Patriots already were one of the most successful franchises in professional sports entering 2014. Then they won a Super Bowl. Apparently all that winning has paid off, as the four-time Super Bowl champs find themselves near the top of yet another list this week. Forbes has released its annual list of the most valuable franchises in professional sports, and the Patriots come in tied with the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 6, with each team valued at $2.6 billion."

Agreed. Some people are in the " what good would suing have done?" camp. Guess what, if you don't fight back against a bully, they do it again. And the league will do it again in the future, that's a certainty. Ever if it was tilting at windmills, making a stink might have been fighting a lost cause in the short run, but it would have sent a message that it stops here and now and no more BS will be tolerated.
The league bullied the Patriots and Kraft acquiesced in the hope they would go easy on Brady...Instead Goodell dropped the hammer in a show trial worthy of Stalinist Russia.... Now Kraft realized what a mistake he made. Okay, what are you Mr. Kraft doing to make sure it never happens again? I think that is a reasonable question. This case was built on fake evidence and junk science.
After 20 years as an owner (and for Belichick nearly 40 as a coach)they have to now where the proverbial"bodies" are buried and the skeletons that others have tried to hide over the years. LEt's air some dirty laundry or just threaten to do so to send a message to the other teams that want to see the Patriots brought down a notch...
While some may see it as "32 above all" by Mr. Kraft for the greater good, I see this as damaging the "Patriots" brand and why there needs to be a fight...In the PR battle, accepting the penalty is seen as tacit admission of guilt. Living outside New England for the last 30 years, I see a different perspective and perception became reality, unfortunately.

Kraft could easily come out today and demand that the NFL release the PSI numbers from this season. He should go on to state that, as we all expect, if those numbers show that footballs inflated in a warm locker room will indeed lose pressure when exposed to cold temperatures outdoors, the NFL should drop its appeal of the Brady suspension and reinstate that Pat's picks and Kraft's million bucks.

He would put tremendous pressure on the NYJFL to come clean and admit their mistakes.

Instead, he sits quietly and does nothing, letting this stain upon his team stay.

At this point, the only hope is that the court asks for the PSI numbers.

Guess what, if you don't fight back against a bully, they do it again.

But what if you signed an legally binding agreement that says you won't fight back (which is the case here)?

But what if you signed an legally binding agreement that says you won't fight back (which is the case here)?

That is not the case. He signed something that says he can't sue (which, BTW, cannot be held to waive rights to sue that courts and statutes say are unwaiveable, such as anti-trust issues) There are many, many, many other ways to fight back and he made the conscious, cowardly, and damnable decision to do precisely zero of them.

But what if you signed an legally binding agreement that says you won't fight back (which is the case here)?
And what if you know that this person is willfully negligent in doing the job you expected of them when you signed "said" legally binding agreement that publicly smears your organization's reputation and brand and devalues it all at the same time? I'm not saying Kraft had to go as far as suing them, but he should have kept the appeal in place even if it seemed hopeless and continued to disagree with the investigation and penalties in the face of the 32. I don't think any one of the other owners, Jerry Jones; Woody Johnson and the likes would lie down and take it like Kraft did.

I can understand people who continue to be upset with Kraft because he goes out of his way to excuse and defend Goodell and sits by while the league continues to crap on his franchise. Any while people are right that he doesn't have much legal recourse that doesn't mean he has to stay quiet while the league continues to attack Brady and the Patriots. It's really not asking too much to expect Kraft to go public and defend the franchise when Goodell takes his smelly dumps on them.
