The more time that goes on, the more I have trouble rooting for Kraft

I'm with you. The "Kraft should have sued!" crowd is ridiculous. I've tried to tell them that Kraft has no legal recourse in this matter but then they say "Well, he should have appealed to Goodell" to which I say did you not read the transcripts of the Brady appeal? Do you think that guy was going to reconsider his own judgement?

Am I not happy about losing a first rounder? Yep. But I also realize that there is NOTHING the Pats as an organization can do about it. Just use this incident to show you (and other people) how corrupt and biased the league office is. And warn other non-Pats fans you know to not have their team be too successful (at least while Goodell's in office) or this could happen to them.

it's the lamest lynch mob in the history of lynch mobs

If you want to cheat on your wife that's your business.
You made the assumption that one mistake shouldn't matter after 15 years of a success with Kraft and Patriots. Is reading comprehension an issue for you or do you choose to avoid the topic by ignoring the analogy?

there is no legal precedent for suing a league over loss draft picks, what legal basis would you use for something like that?
You don't need to have a precedent to sue over something that has not happened before.
But there is no point in talking about legal remedies when Kraft chose to not even attempt to follow the first steps of the process of appealing the decision.
Kraft chose to not fight because he felt that the Patriots losing the picks was best for the other 31 teams. In fact, other than a lame press conference he didn't really even object.

I absolutely loathed what Kraft did in May... there really is no excuse for it at all...but I think he understands now that he really screwed up.

Now I don't want the NFL to become the National Gotcha League but part of me really wants to see the Patriots get their "revenge" by blowing the whistle on another high profile team "cheating" just to see how 345 Park Avenue responds to that... a public perception that the Patriots got royally screwed (which is slowly growing already) will go a long way.

Apparently you couldn't grasp my analogy. Let me repeat it. If you want to cheat on your wife that's your business. If Kraft wants to go along with the league office, that's his business. Your marriage. His team. Get it?

Poor little Tommy

=============================

"CelebrityNetWorth.com puts Brady’s net worth at $120 million, while TheRichest guesstimates it to be $131 million.................

..........................Brady’s wife, noted supermodel and world-wide icon Gisele Bundchen, has an estimated net worth of $360 million."

Tom Brady Net Worth: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know
So his reputation and legacy don't matter because of his bank account?
You have a warped outlook on this topic.

And like I said, you want to personally attack me by asking me the idiotic question of whether I want to cheat on my wife? If you go back to my post then you should be able to ascertain that I was using it to make an analogy between a marriage and Kraft's relationship with the Pats and that's it. You obviously are trying to stir trouble with that question or you really do have a reading comprehension gap. Get it?

That analogy only works if you pay to go to his house and watch him and his wife have sex, or just stay home and watch it on TV, belong to a messageboard where you discuss his marriage, and spend money on clothing and memorabilia related to his marriage.

But if Kraft's decision gives people a good reason to call our team cheaters....and it forces us to defend them all the time - then it becomes our business.

I will always love this team and appreciate his ownership but he screwed up, big time. Period. And I think he understands that now.

Stop paying to go to his house than.

I don't believe there was anyway Kraft could have stopped the Patriots/Brady haters. That's one of the fundamental flaws of your argument IMO.

Apparently you are a person that is feeble-minded and slightly deranged if you are going to take it to this level. In that case, you can continue argue with yourself as I have absolutely no need or urge to defend myself or argue with such a person. If anything, you have my pity and exist only on my "ignore' list. Seek help immediately.

It's one thing to be a hater of a team it's another to say they are cheaters and unfortunately thanks to Kraft's capitulation they now have a credible reason to say that.

It's not hard to find people in the media and around the internet who say the Patriots are cheaters and Kraft accepting the punishment for deflategate without a fight is proof that they are guilty.

Perception usually is reality.

I don't buy that at all. They would have been calling the Patriots cheaters no matter what Kraft said. They were al;ready calling us cheaters from spygate.

I think Kraft started the process extremely naive......He took the penalty believing it they would back off of Brady......The situation is still one that bizarrely has 2 entities penalized as though they are both primary perpetrators

Kraft set himself up ...... and now all he can do is piss in the wind

it's a sucky spot to be in which is why I prefer to move on and just accept the fact that the picks are gone

Homie is 72. He has dementia. It's evident. He's also trolling the forum so he'll probably get fired out on his ass soon enough once the mods realize what he brings to the table (which is nothing).

Exactly. The Patriots have been the best franchise in professional sports over the last 15 years. You just have to embrace the hate; there's no way fans of any other team were going to give an inch to the Patriots. Most knowledgeable football fans understand that Deflategate was totally invented, but they don't mind because the loss of the 1st round pick takes away from the Patriots.

I'm very salty about the loss of the pick, though.

He's publicly admitted it.

Let's put it this way. If the news came out that the 2015 Denver Broncos say, illegally taped the Patriots and Panthers practices before their games.. and were punished with the loss of a first round pick.... what would most of us here think about the 2015 Broncos if their owner said "we accept the punishment and will not appeal"?

Kraft's screwup damaged the perception of this team in a big way.
