The more time that goes on, the more I have trouble rooting for Kraft

I will leave the NYJFL once Brady is gone, but I'll still be here.

I'm not trying to talk you out of anything, but what exactly are you going to talk about here if you're no longer watching football?

WHO F*CKING CARE!!!!

without Bob Kraft, there would never have been a deflategate because there would never have been a goddamned team here

the only question from there is 'would you be rooting for the jets or the giants?

I admire that you have a different opinion and aren't afraid to be the in the minority here in this thread. In fact, I suspect a lot of people who don't agree with my post gave it an eye roll long ago and that was the end of their involvement.

I do think that your reasoning here is flawed, though. Hey, where would the USSR have been had Stalin not fought off Germany in WWII? Where would the German economy have been in the late 1930s had there not been a great ruler who came in and restored national pride and financial independence? In both cases, these countries were greatly indebted and eternally grateful that their nations had been restored, and their citizens wrongly offered little resistance in giving those ruling parties unchecked power going forward.

I realize how trite and overboard it is comparing events to WWII, but I think we do so because they are very emotional, vivid examples that most people can relate to. In both cases, I make the point just to illustrate that just because a leader may be responsible for great feats, or even the survival of a nation in the past, does mean they should be immune from any criticism in subsequent dealings. Absolutely the same can be applied to businesses all across the world today; CEOs who have saved companies or been instrumental in their ascent may not necessarily be worthy of praise today, nor does their past achievements excuse them for decisions that negatively effect company employees or shareholders today.

In addition to that, the criticism of Kraft here has little to do with Kraft as a business owner or Kraft as a savior who kept the team from relocating in the 1990s; in fact, it doesn't even have anything to do with Kraft as a savvy owner, even if we are to take the most optimistic view possible at his involvement in player development and influence over the team, being a key reason for their success. Even if we believe that, what is fundamentally wrong with his Deflategate dealings are just in another category altogether. This has to do with something much more visceral to so many fans. The idea that what you've watched over the last fifteen years was the result of cheating, in the wake of many legitimate scandals like Lance Armstrong and the baseball steroids stuff...well, it's beyond comprehension how an owner could care so little about his own fans and the way they'd like to be perceived, and that he would seemingly roll over like such a spineless coward...it's kind of disgusting.

@ReverendMaynard

you have something to say or are you another spoiled little dweeb who just runs around with 'dislikes'?

I disgree with almost every one of your assertions. I dislike your constant insults towards those who disagree with you.

I see no purpose in engaging with someone who is so convinced that their opinion is the only one with any merit and is so hostile to those who have other opinions.

I will continue to "disagree" and "dislike" your posts without further commentary, whatever tantrums you may subject the board to.

Soccer, he's a big fan.

Kraft is really just a symptom of the cancer that has metastasized in the NFL; namely, the "corporate guys" taking over and the "football guys" being marginalized. Kraft is simply a corporate guy going with the flow; Belichick is a football guy who is a fly in the ointment (his competence is ruining the whole "parity" thing) so he must be marginalized.

It's pretty sad really. The game is looking less and less like a sport and more and more like reality TV. Almost everything about SB 50 was a disgrace.

OK, name me a billionaire that is ready to fight against other billionaires?

Are you completely oblivious that Bobby's billionaire "pals" ganged up on him, so yeah there is an existence proof of billionaires ready to fight another billionaire. Wisely, they knew from experience (2007/8) that Vichy Bob Kraft would simply fulminate and bombast but not fight back.

and none of it would have existed if it weren't for Kraft.....no Kraft, no BB.......no BB, no Brady

Looking at it any other way is spoiled stupidity

and provided it is all HIS investment, I won't question the decisions he needs to make in order to protect what he's built.....which happens to be much more important than some piss ant fan's opinion

don't like it? pick another team

without bob kraft, NONE of it happens

Besides Bob Kraft, who else do you feel has performed so well in the past that it is forever inappropriate to criticize him?

I honestly believe that what happened with Kraft was that he was genuinely infuriated by the way the team was treated and he went to the owners meeting expecting that he would get some support from owners he has been able to work with in the past, however when he got there they all turned their backs on him and told him to shut up and take it, and that was something he didn't expect and simply could not take. Being a part of the billionaire boys club is simply too important to him, so having to go rogue and be the new Al Davis was something he could not bring himself to do. He should have put the team and fans above being accepted, and he should have made them force the sanctions upon them and not rolled over and taken them. I'll always appreciate Kraft for his role in keeping the team in NE and for bringing in Belichick and letting him run the team, many owners can't set their egos aside for the better of the team, but imo it's note time for him to retire and let Jonathan take over. Maybe that will be for the better and he will show some fight, or maybe Jonathan will have his own flaws, either wauy due to the damage Robert Kraft has allowed to be inflicted upon the team it's time for a. change.

But how can you be so careless so as to allow an "off the chain" idiot like Goodell get into a position of authority? No only that, but endorse his hiring and continued retention?

Take a lesson from Godfather 2 . . . The only way to deal with a Sen. Pat Geary type is to make sure you can keep him in check with a "dead prostitute"-type problem.

d%#*!@t! I want Michael Corleone running the team, not Fredo.

I think we're finding out that they have a corrupt commissioner, absolutely devoid of honesty and integrity, because that's the kind of person they want for the job. The don't want someone who's going to get squeamish about lying to anyone who needs to be lied to, because then they might need to start operating with the integrity they claim rather than the reprehensible callousness and complete disregard for morality that they actually have.

When you lie with rats, you end up with fleas. When you need the rats badly enough, you pretend to be mad about the fleas, but you don't do anything to get rid of the rats.

This is totally irrelevant to how he rolled over and just accepted getting raped by the league.

I'm sure Kraft gives a rat's _ _ _ what you think.

Bob willfully chose his wallet over his, and his team's, honor, and he'd do it again tomorrow.

This isn't the boy scouts. The Patriots are a business first and foremost.

bob kraft has taken our team to 7 super bowls in 24 years. i think its a bit unfair to hate him....look at the Jaguars, Jets, Dolphins, Bills, Titans, Texans, Raiders, chargers, chiefs, cowboys, redskins, lions, falcons, vikings, cardinals...they have a combined 4 appearances in same time i think....

he ****ed out on the deflategate thing, but boo hooo. its bullcrap, and he was never gonna win it back.
