It's as if people think Miller does his work in a vacuum. It was Miller - Ware - Wolfe all staying reasonably healthy this year that did the damage. The Broncos D hit 7 total sacks against Carolina. As good as Miller was, he wasn't an island.
Dont forget Malik Jackson. Id argue after Miller hes the best player on that unit.
How'd Pot Roast do this year by the way? I would have loved to have him in the middle of the defense.Yeah, I remember that the consensus was that they'd be screwed due to the loss of Pot Roast, but Jackson has certainly helped to ease that transition.

This Denver defense really was built perfectly for Miller to succeed. Consider that:
A) The DL was dominant in the middle, which not only shut down a QB's ability to step up in the pocket, but also completely shut down most running games, giving the edge rushers more 3rd and longs to pin their ears back.
B) The linebackers had speed and the DB's were good tacklers, which meant that Miller didn't need to worry as much about edge containment on the run. Outside runs against this defense were snuffed out pretty quickly.
Von basically had a dream scenario for him where he was allowed to focus on his biggest strength 90% of the time. It would be like having a defense that allowed for Jamie Collins to time A gap blitzes on 90% of the snaps. The man would have 20+ sacks.
Not too mention having a shutdown corner in Talib that allowed them to play on an island with no safety help. TJ Ward is a basically a LB
Exactly. Amazing how short-sighted people are.Lmao, Miller had a good post season. He's not worth whatever he'll get paid let alone 2 firsts
But say the Pats could actually sign a franchise player, how good is this team going to be in 3-5 years with no Brady and three straight years of no first round pick?
