Patriots fan files consumer complaint against the NFL

Technically it should be v. Kraft as it is his business in which he is accusing of devaluing his service rendered by reducing the quality of play( #1 pick). Why Bob is doing it is immaterial. The challenge is that the grounds for the case are based on pure conjecture as we have no idea how the Pats will perform on the field in 2016 w/o a #1 pick.
It's not about value On the field, per se, but Is more about the NFL's unwarranted actions, which diminish the "product" by taking away assets that can be used by the team in a number of ways, while the other 31, equally non-guilty teams were not diminished by having assets taken away. Yea there is no way to project what the 2 draft picks will do or what other 'assets' could be traded for them, the point is, the team is handcuffed by having its assets limited and thus their options. (Trades, moving up, etc) In laymen' s terms, they are left to fill the roles of the two top 130 ranked athletes with players not in the top 250 rankings (via free agency).

Yea. That argument is more appropriate if you theorize that there are shareholders of the Patriots.

Boy....that would be interesting if that was the case

There may not be shareholders, but if there aren't there are definitely at least partners. Bob Kraft has talked about how he's been getting equity over to Jonathan (and presumably the others), so Bob certainly isn't (if he ever was) the sole owner, though he is the controlling one.

Unfortunately, a first round pick is much more cost effective in terms of price and control than just signing someone that is why aside from quarterbacks and all pro players first round picks are rarely traded for anything but other picks. However, if Kraft were willing to show with his actions in addition to his words, he realizes what was done to his team by the POS, I would have a lot more confidence in the team.s future, and more forgiveness of the past.

Yes but a even a first round pick is hardly a sure thing. If we get Forte at the right money, I'll get over being robbed of the picks much easier.

So this past weekend we saw what fan power can do. In response to the fenway group putting prices at an all time high for Liverpool games to £77 a ticket from next season.. fans decided that on the 77th minute there would be a walkout and leave the stadium. They were winning 2-0 before the walkout, the stunned players went on to not win drawing 2-2. Over 10,000 got out there seats and left, fan group says that with more people realising about the walkout the 10,000 will rise next time.

Fenway group apparently stunned that this has happened and currently regrouping

The Liverpool supporters are saying this is just the beginning

Ticket prices, mainly for away fans has been a hot topic this past year for many, be proactive as a fan base and you will be surprised what can happen.

Media are saying this will be a catalyst for all fans in the Premier League for the remainder of the season.

Watch this space.

If Liverpool had been playing Man Utd and the score was 1-1 on 77 mins, you can bet hardly any of them would have left. Furthermore, they're protesting over the price of 200 seats for 6 games next season (out of 19) - but they way they're talking you'd have thought that the whole ground is getting ripped off.

I will say, however, that if there's one set of fans who can kick up a stink in the media, it's Liverpool fans. The same fans who will demand that their club spend £200m next summer on new players to compete for the title, as if that money just comes out of thin air (although the new TV deal should take care of most of it).

They are protesting because not of the semantics of the tickets on offer, but they have simply had enough of constant price rises. As for the Man Utd remark, you are right, fans are a fickle bunch and will choose when to walk out, just as tube drivers or junior doctors do. Why hurt yourself when your trying to hurt others. Planning it for the UTD game would be dumb, but then again Liverpool fans are. Actually with nothing to play for this season I could see them walking out on that game.

I think they are right though, many more fans will be encouraged by this and Liverpool do like to play the victim. What will be interesting is if other teams fans do this too. Especially regarding away tickets.

Fans of other teams are not going to show any solidarity to the "plight" of Liverpool fans in this instance - I don't remember Liverpool fans going up in arms when United forced season ticket holders to purchase cup games, or Arsenal charging over £1200 for their season tickets?

They'll scream in the media. LFC will reduce the £77 ticket and their fans will gloat about "changing football for the better" before going into the club shop and spending a fortune.

Oh, and don't for one second consider the junior doctor strike to be "fickle" - they're being screwed by Jeremy Hunt and co and feel it's the only way they can get their point across. They have no desire to strike.

As I said, when one starts it becomes a catalyst for others.

Dortmund fans bombard pitch with tennis balls in ticket price protest

And good old Harry

Liverpool walk-out will be a warning to clubs, believes Harry Redknapp

I don't get your point if Liverpool are getting what they wanted through protesting. Also I never said other fans will fight for Liverpool's plight, they will fight for there own. Both City and Arsenal fans have been very proactive in this recently.. specifically away tickets.

Exclusive: Football Supporters’ Federation confirms it will convene meeting with fans from all 20 Premier teams to discuss ways to express anger over mounting costs
A walkout from an entire round of Premier League fixtures is to be discussed by supporters groups following Liverpool fans’ ticket-price protest at the weekend, Telegraph Sport can reveal.

The Football Supporters’ Federation confirmed on Monday night that it would convene a meeting of fan organisations of all 20 top-flight teams to plot a wave of coordinated action in the wake of the historic demonstration at Anfield last Saturday.

BB has a very good record on first round picks. second round not so much. I would rather take my chances on a first round [pick with five years of control than a 30 year old back who may have not much left in the tank and high monetary expectations.

The Football Supporters Federation are a nothing organisation - they speak for nobody. Other fans will not walk in solidarity with Liverpool fans - period.

Of course, Liverpool have now revoked the £77 ticket price - as expected - and it will mean diddly squat in the grand scheme of things...

Am I being trolled PMSL

The 2 are independent events. And while 1st rounders are not sure things, Belichick's success rate with first rounders is such that getting a damn decent player is more probable than not.

Rookies still cost money and cap space. If Brady has a window of 2-3 years for ring 5, it may make more sense to spend that money on veterans or extending current contract.

Maybe it's a ****ty argument but just I'm trying to keep a happy thought.

Yay for "Happy Thoughts" !!! We need more of those around here!

When you draft well, as Belichick does, rookies are tremendous bargains for 4 years.

Momentum is growing! Even if you feel this is a one-in-a-million shot, if you are a Patriots Fan, signing sends a loud and clear message; not only to the MA AG, but to the NFL and even the Krafts!

The Patriots get nearly 2/3 of a million fans into Gillette each season and hundreds of thousands more who watch them on tv each season. Getting 10-15% of "us" to sign, will send that message to the NFL Offices, loud and clear!

Don't take my word for it, check out the #DefendTheWall leader, Jerry Thornton, who hits the nail on the head with his assessment!

Signed.

"The NFL has targeted my team unfairly and harshly punished them for a violation they don't even know actually occurred. They are a bunch of corrupt a**holes and inject personal agendas while screaming INTEGRITY as if they have any clue what that word really means. God I hate them all. Absolute scum."
