Talib admits that he tried to wreck Corey Brown on purpose

Talib really pisses me off. He gets hurt at the most inopportune times for us (back to back AFCCGs) and very much contributed to us losing those games. Yet, he has been an ironman for the Broncos.

Broncos free agents:
Omar Bolden, S
David Bruton, S
Andre Caldwell, WR
Vernon Davis, TE
Ryan Harris, OT
Ronnie Hillman, RB
Malik Jackson, DE - their best DL
Shiloh Keo, S
Evan Mathis, G
Von Miller, OLB - their best pass rusher
Jordan Norwood, WR
Brock Osweiler, QB - their best option at QB
Tyler Polumbus, OT
Antonio Smith, DE
Danny Trevathan, ILB - their best ILB
Kyle Williams, WR

add to that Demarcus Ware who had a great playoffs and got healthy at the right time, but he's going to be 34

their offense is going to take another step back next year.......their OL is not very good and they have some age there to boot

I don't expect they'll be letting Miller or Jackson go anywhere.

It was contract time. It's possible he knew he would be getting an offer from Denver also. Teams tamper all the time. I wouldn't say it's probable but it is a possibility.

They should still have that defense intact. Possible for a bit longer if Manning's contract comes off the books.

Miller is getting franchise tagged or at the least getting $14mm/year so that just about offsets if Manning retires/leaves. Marshall, Trevathan, and Malik Jackson are free agents. They did sign Ware, Talib and Ward to weird contract terms that the Broncos can now easily move on from and they will have to cut two of those three in order to keep other players.

I expect their defense to still be good but not like it was this year. They're going to lose people and it's year two of Wade Phillips who isn't that great of a DC in my opinion. I really, really hope they try and open the season against us.

Wonder what the Rotweiler demands. Maybe a one year deal for 9-10 is best for both sides so he gets another season to prove himself and the organization can justify big money? I hope he leaves. I like his game and **** the Broncos.

That's a perfect example of what the NFL has done wrong. It was a one yard penalty, and Talib knew that. The issue of player safety never crossed his mind. Talib should be suspended for it, but it's also a sign that the NFL has not done enough to explain why these penalties are penalties.

A simple solution: personal fouls don't get the "half the distance" treatment. If the penalty yardage goes into the end zone then... TD.

This will close the grey area and put a stop to this kind of thing in a hurry.

Probably right but it's hard to see how they keep Marshall, Trevathan, Anderson etc.... let alone make any effort to improve the team? The Broncos have huge contract issues imo.

If you look like a rat, act like a rat and squeak like a rat, then you must be a rat.

Zero evidence about you knowing about taking air out of the ball - 4 games

Admitting to trying to rip someone's head off- 0 games, even though you just got suspended 3 months ago for poking someone's eye.
"Players are always trying to rip other players heads off and admit it freely, that's just football. Unless of course it's a Patriots player doing the ripping then it's a despicable act against humanity." - John Clayton

their defense was not good enough last year with travathan out....travathan and marshal were who took this defense to the next level this year

We can say all the negatives we want about Talib but he was Good when he was here. Denver's Defense make him look even better. BB loves Physical players on Defense...they often intimidate soft Offensive players. I would take Two Talib's at CB any day of the week.

The other solution in the comments which is even better is to let teams "bank" penalty yardage and then use it whenever they want to. I love this idea, in part because the gap between our coach and almost everyone's else's would become even more evident.

Broncos D is dirty in general, against us they did plenty of helmet to helmet hits, got called twice on it, plenty of other times came close to the line but didn't cross. That's how they've been playing for years.

For some reason they get a pass, but they are dirty as hell, make no mistake.

Now THAT would be fun to watch. Line up for a game winning FG and then other team cashes in a penalty to push them back.

Or cash in a penalty to move your own team closer. :D

don't hate the player....

....Talib likely ends up on the suspended list week 1 next year.

Week 1 - Thursday night should be Patriots AT Denver.

I don't think Miller will accept a tag. He'll hold out. He's 26 and just had one of the best runs for an OLB in recent memory. He'd be an idiot to step back onto a field with less and 60 or so guaranteed, and for less than 15 next year. the guy could be looking at a near (or even there!) 9-figure contract.
