Cam Newton walks out of Super Bowl post game press conference

He also backed his lame attitude at the presser, saying the old line "show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser" 2 days after the loss and he doesn't get it.

Russell Wilson conducted himself with class at his conference last year, and Wilson has 1 more ring than Cam.

Wilson's not a loser.

The gold standard has always been Montana since he didn't lose a SB. However almost all the great modern QBs have lost a SB.

Brady - 4-2

Manning - 2-2*

Roethlisburger - 2-1

The exceptions are eli and Rodgers.

I've see this Norwood thing quoted by a few people and I don't buy it.

People react to things in different ways. Who is to say what's right or wrong?

you're apparently making the case that somebody's wrong right here in your own post

I cannot tell you how little I care about how players handle themselves in front of the media. It's been the most enjoyable year of football watching for me because I refuse to watch one minute of pregame, postgame, or other highlight shows. I started this simply as a reaction to the thugs in the NY office but ultimately started enjoying the games much more. I would just assume that Cam Newton or other players just give the media the finger and tell them to F off.

The same thing happened to me. I dropped all of the bullcrap and it helped me enjoy the games even more. I even learned to watch the games with the volume so low that I couldn't quite make out what the announcers were saying, and that made the games better too.

There's nothing more ironic than someone advocating moral relativism and simultaneously criticizing you for not being a moral relativist.

I'm tired of this story ... I was tired of it yesterday.

Hopefully Newton learns from the experience ... outrage = internet clicks.

Great athletes are not necessarily polished media people - we're lucky to have had Grogan and Bledsoe and now Brady who most always handle it well.

Personally, I like athletes to be extremely disappointed, pissed off, to the point of grief. Some like their athletes to treat it as no big deal. What works for one doesn't work for others.

By all accounts there were Bronco reps in the area crowing about the win, I'm guessing hearing them was a little too much.

Oh, and for Patriots fans to talk about people needing to give the media some big explanation or whatever else - c'mon man. Our HC has treated most of them with the contempt they deserve for as long as he's been here. And his approach is universally loved round here.

He's 26, suffered the biggest disappointment of his life and in front of millions of people. Until you've been there, I wouldn't preach.

I don't agree with the BB comparison. He has never sought the attention from the mediots that Newton has. Newton and his bloated ego came into the league claiming that he wanted to be an icon. Lucky for him that someone has invented band-aids for feelings. At least that's what I've heard.

The baby has spoken:
Newton defends himself, says he's 'sore loser'

"Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser," he said.

Show me a sore loser and I'll show you a loser.

The difference is the sore loser has no class, is not an example of what we aim to be as people.

Newton also defended himself for not diving to try to recover his fumble in the fourth quarter that eventually was recovered by the Broncos. Denver went on to score a touchdown to put the game out of reach. He said that he would have risked injury by diving as it would have meant he would have had to twist his leg in an awkward direction.

Brady would have ripped his leg off if it meant getting that ball.

Because Brady is a winner.

"We didn't lose that game because of that fumble. I can tell you that," he said.

Except you pretty much did.

But keep rationalizing, confabulating, and lying to yourself. Whatever you need to do to sleep at night.

The not diving for the ball was inexcusable. The press conference, I mean, I would have done the same thing if I was asked "can you put into words how bad you feel after losing the super bowl and letting everyone down?" 15 times in a 3 minute span within 30 minutes of the most embarassing disappointing moment in his life.

They didn't lose because of the fumble. They lost because Cam threw an interception in the redzone, their kicker missed an FG, Tolbert fumbled the ball when they were driving and giving up a touchdown after Cam got stripped.

Huh?

People are holding up Norwood as how it should be done.

I disagreed. I said there's different ways to be.

Unfortunately opinion does not equal fact. Whatever you believe.

I never liked Newton, especially this year with the increased hype and annoying dancing...

...but wow. This story is being overblown to the maximum.

Would love to hear Newton expand on his comment about not conforming.

This outrage is dumb.

It's like when people gets pissed when they tried to talk to BB after a SB or playoff loss. They complain that he's a sore loser.

the funny thing about that statement is the emotionally charged outrage seems to be coming entirely from people defending cam for no particular reason.
it's not outrage to call somebody out as a douche.

Nahhhhh its really not.

He made himself a target with all the hype and dancimg. He couldn't handle it. He quit on his team on the biggest stage. He deserves all the criticism.

The ironic part about your statement is that it's proven wrong by your own statement.

You sure aren't defending him. And you sure are outraged about him.
