(HYPOTHETICAL) What if Von Miller were to test positive for PEDs this week?

All stats and accomplishments should be erased for that player that year. So if player wins DPOY, MVP, or OPOY, they lose that plus the numbers they put up that year.

That follows with the offender suspension.

What would happen? Serious question.

Lawsuits left and right? A re-match?

The NFL would say that they are very concerned, but that it seems nowhere nearly as serious as someone's general awareness that someone else could have taken an imperceptible amount of air out of some footballs, but (based on data) definitely did not.

I admit I have a problem with this. The guy played amazingly through the playoffs, so we immediately GO THERE?

I don't like it. if it was a Patriots' player stepping up and playing his mind out for a few games, the only thread here would be "EXTEND THE BEAST!"

Just give the guy his due and let it all fall where it falls.

You will never convince me that the NFL didn't weight the odds in the AFCCG to help Denver get to the SB. Whether through NOT testing certain players, refraining from post-game testing, leaning on the refs to NOT make holding calls against Denver, making phantom calls against the Patriots and then Carolina, etc, there has been a concerted effort to deflect attention from NE and crown Manning as the GOAT.

Go ahead, call me a nutter, a conspiracy nut, whatever. I don't care anymore because it's been so obvious for anyone who wants to see. Even last night, replay showed a False Start penalty against the Panthers, yet no one could be seen moving. There were obvious holding calls against Carolina, and against NE in the AFCCG that weren't called. Blatant grabbing of arms and jerseys, etc. Then add in the Nance/Simms ball washing of Manning before and all through the game. Both the AFCCG and the SB. It was obvious that the fix was in.
Arguably the most influential call of the game went in our favor. Manning's pass was ruled incomplete on the field, and the overturned after the refs called it a backwards pass (and a NE fumble recovery). We ended up scoring a touchdown on the ensuing drive. The easily could have upheld the call on the field -- even the commentators conceded that that was very hard to tell from the camera angles.

I'm sorry, but I think you've got a tinfoil hat on.

I know how conspiracy theories work though. Now someone is going to quote my post and they're going to exaggerate how obvious it was to overturn this call. They're going to say, "well, they had no choice to overturn that call. It was so blatantly obvious that it would've been a dead giveaway that they were favoring the Broncos if they didn't overturn it."

You said it yourself. :)

And nope, no tinfoil hat on, though I do have my hoodie pulled up because it's a bit cold tonight.

well considering von has never tested positive for PEDs ever..... i would say this thread is....

full of extremely sour grapes

Agree ...
Lots of Bronco hate in this forum ... too much actually ... a thread like this is disturbing.
On top of that ... guy was drafted #2 ...
He doesn't fit the profile of someone who suddenly had a few great years by crossing the line.

He is guilty of one thing though ...

QuantumMechanic giving a huge dose of disagrees ...

How about act like a MAN and enter the thread ...

Apparently Ian's thread on misuse of disgrees and dislikes was not enough for you.

Time Ian dealt with you more sternly IMO and I'll be happy to bring it to his attention.

First, as Ian can verify for you, the positives (likes + wins) I've given out outnumber the negatives (dislikes + disagrees) I've given out by something like an 8:1 ratio. May actually be closer to 10:1. So since I give out around 8 positives for every negative you can be sure that if I gave out a dislike or disagree it wasn't for sh*ts and grins.

Second, by all means please do go ahead and carry out your "go crying to mommy" act if that's the emotional crutch you need. As for me, I continue to remain amazed that alleged grown people are such candy-azzed butthurt whiners about little red X and thumb-down icons. Especially when getting them HAS NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER. (You do understand that part, right? That you don't lose any privileges, capabilities, etc. in any way when you get a negative rating.) You sound like Colts fans. "Oooooooooo! Someone gave me a red X. My fee-fees are so hurt!". When are we ordering forum participation banners? What's next, demands for trigger warnings and "safe spaces"?

I take it as a point of pride that I've never once complained to Ian or to any poster about any "dislike" or "disagree" I've received. You might want to grow up and try it.

Anyhow, if Ian chooses to ban me or whatever that's his choice -- it's his board and he can do what he wants and when it comes to internet boards and mailing lists I'm a very strong supporter of the concept that there are no ethical problems with the owner booting whomever he wants for whatever reasons he wants. But I will lose a lot of respect for him -- not for banning me -- but for taking seriously people who whine so vociferously about something as ludicrous as literally meaningless ratings.
