Have to say "no thanks" to your no thanks. He is a #3 or #4 WR and I get that. He certainly has red zone appeal. When Foles....again we are talking Foles was the QB in the first two successful years of Chip's helm at the Eagles , Riley caught 102 passes and 11 TDs. Better than LaFell, Tyms, and Dobson by a long shot mostly because he has not missed a game in three years.
He's a health upgrade over every player on our offense outside of Brady, but as you said he's a #3 or #4 at very best. He caught a lot of balls as Philly's top option and outperformed players who have been nothing but #3/#4/#5 options on the Pats as long as Gronk and Edleman are on the field. Foles threw a bunch of deep balls and Cooper came down with them. This is the same outlier year from Foles that had people throwing him in with the rest of the young "up and coming" QB's like RG3, Kaep, Wilson and Luck.
Danny can't stay healthy and what happened when JE got hurt? He runs a 4.56 and has a 6.74 3 cone. He's only 28 and 6"3 and 220 lbs.
He ran a 4.56, He's not as fast on the field as his combine time from 5 years ago. No player is.
Again he is a #3 or #4 WR at best buts seems durable and maybe more productive in the Red Zone over Scott Chandler.
He might be but Chandler was nothing in the redzone for us this year. It doesn't mean our offense is discernibly any better if Chandler (Cooper) catches a couple of more TD passes.
He is not Randy Moss for sure but what if TB was trowing to him? If you can sign him on a prove it contract, yes I would take him over Dobson and LaFell.

I would actually much rather Dobson be given one more chance than Cooper taking reps from him, partly because we've seen what Cooper can do and where his career is most likely headed and partly because such a high pick was invested in Dobson. A healthy Lafell is unquestionably an upgrade over cooper. Remember, how we were calling Lafell a better signing than Manny Sanders was for Denver last year? Philosophical differences aside, I just don't see Riley Cooper offering much for any team and I'd rather a complete rookie unknown than Cooper. Just an uninspiring signing IMO and one that most likely would leave us trying to address the position again a year later.
