Never mentioned fivehead???

I didn't think this thread needed to be Godwinized.

I can see how you may have thought that I invoked Godwin's law, however I am not invoking Nazism as an argumentative stratagem to gain ascendancy, or indeed even contradicting anything that has been said before. Nor am I using Leo Strauss's term, Reductio ad Hitlerum , which is sometimes called "playing the Nazi card"; a tactic often used to derail arguments, because such comparisons tend to distract and anger the opponent.

What I am pointing out is that the governing body of America's favorite sport has controlled the media in much the same way as Goebbels controlled the radio in pre-war Germany, to turn the audience against a singular demographic. This can explain, though not mitigate, the rancor and disapprobation of the national football audience. Expecting anything better from the manipulated fandom is optimistic to say the least. Only those with rational thought, common sense and a healthy skepticism of sports journalism will be inured from such disaffection.

I didn't watch anything remotely attached to the NFL yesterday just because I knew those scumbags would boo him. I said it before that I wish he had told the entire game to F off instead of going. The NFL has achieved their personal goal of marginalizing Brady in the very small heads of today's NFL fans. I hate this F'n league and most fans.

The stadium was mostly Bronco fans. It's a rival fan base and, generally speaking, they're not very bright or well informed.

I'm not sure I know how "most" NFL fans feel about Tom Brady. I know what ESPN thinks of him; I know what the couple hundred no-life cranks who have nothing better to do than troll internet sites think; I know what Goodell thinks. As for the millions of others who have lives and don't waste their time on internet sport sites, I have no idea what they think.

At the time I brushed it off but I tell ya, those people in the stadium that boo's Tom should be ashamed of themselves....
Disgusting.
I was visiting Cowboys Zone yesterday and I don't know of a sports forum with more hateful and childish fans.

For some reason during the game, they ranted on DeflateGate - I commented they act as though the Patriots were playing in the SB and they must be miserable to continue on this....Pats own them. I could say far worse and wish I did since they decided to ban me.

I think part of it is they can't face the fact NE is about to surpass Dallas in championships doing what they did before Jerry - numb that for the past 20 years and the next 20, they are going to be like Cleveland. I have no respect for homers there that condone Greg Hardy's actions, then get self-rightous about 2 psi.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Either way, it's a bit rich. In lieu of the overblown analysis, you could simply apply Occam's razor and realize that most sports fans are sore losers and therefore hate habitual winners.

I'm ok with Patri-hate. It comes with the territory when you've been kicking ass for 15 years. When I was a kid I despised the Steelers, 49ers and Cowboys but it was born out of jealousy b/c my team irrelevant and sucked more often than they were good.

But to boo at THAT ceremony? C'mon now....People need to grow up.

Read your post again. Comparing the persecution of the Patriots to Jews, Communists, Roma people, gays, other untermensch....not as blunt, but the references are too numerous for it not to be pulling the Nazi card.

I will say the NFL is attempting to be dictatoral and feeding propaganda to the fans. It's a power play by most of the owners.

From hateful grade school brats to internet flamers to DeflateGate and even today's politics...people eagerly promote lies if they think there are a lot of people that WANT to believe it over the truth. It's not - I think the Pats cheated therefore I hate them, but I HATE the Pats - see!?!?! I could give a number of political examples, but you get the idea.

It's sad this country let's feelings, esp hate override the quest for truth.

Deion was boo'd too so you can easily reconcile it to Patri-hate but to boo a 3X Super Bowl MVP when the show is purposed to celebrate 50 years worth of players who performed at a ungodly level in the biggest sporting event in the world screams of ignorance, complete lack of perspective and total disrespect for the man's accomplishments.

Disgusting Jerks

This, IMO, is Rogers largest failure as the commissioner. He has created an environment of mistrust by blowing every little issue into an insane national scandal.

Part of me would love it if when Brady gets inducted into the HOF, he went full Jordan in the speech and just **** on everyone.

He would never, of course, just not his style, and part of the reason it's been such a pleasure to cheer for him.
Imagine how much booing he might hear at the HOF

Well, only person that I can remember to be boo'd at the HoF was Al Davis. Could happen....

We're not all that popular with Carolina fans, either.

That's the new and improved, Goodell screwed, owners approved (Kraft included) MFL for ya. I really believe all of the Pats hate stems from BB's non compliance to their plan of parity. And this is their way of punishing under the ruse of "integrity"

tom will have to deal with this for the rest of his career.

he can thank goodell, vincent, kensil, the rest of the league office, espn, and our gutless jellyfish owner robert kraft.

tom's image is worse nationally than ray " white suit " lewis...that's actually amazing!

I do think it'll subside over time.
