Let's get it on!

It'd be really awkward for the NFL to schedule that game and then spend all offseason trying to make sure Garoppolo is starting.

So yes, it's a move that doesn't make any sense so obviously that's exactly what the NFL will do.

It will be Indy... nfl will still be in full on manning ballwash mode and so it will be his two former teams playing and he will be there to get honored.

NFL appeal will probably be decided in March. Sked comes out in April

They usually don't schedule the biggest matchup as the opener as everyone is going to watch the opener anyway. I say Atlanta or Indy. Atlanta sucks, but they have a flashy offense so I could see the league going that direction.

Carolina plays there also. But, yeah, Indy @ Den Manning ballwash sounds the most likely.

I don't think we'll have the outcome of the appeal in time for the schedule makers.

The appeal is in March, I read the decision could take two months, though, the courts work slowly.

Playing on Thursday in week 1 is liking getting an extra half-byeweek. No way in hell the NFL gives that to the Patriots. More likely they'll make them play in Denver on Thursday night mid-season, after playing in London on Monday night following Denver's bye week.

Indy or houston so kubiak can rub it in. I doubt pats play in denver on opening night simply because this yr it was on nbc and cbs will want this game next yr .

Good call. I didn't really think of it that way as it will be 'full circle' for Manning. Manning will be retired but make an appearance to celebrate the championship while his two former teams face each other.

I can't see the NFL scheduling NE to open at Denver if they are still planning on suspending Brady. It would look like a pre-season game with Brock starting for Denver and Jimmy G. starting for NE.

They'll let the ratings build for the Pats game; if they're really into "wishful thinking," they'll schedule it as the fifth game the Pats play. I think Indy is the logical choice. Carolina? Another game they'll let build.

Houston is a good call. Playoff team and JJ Watt gives them the starpower they need.

What about Houston WITH Manning at QB?

He's gotta know that all his records are gone once TB catches up to him in terms of total games played. If he's as smart as CBS has told me he is, he'll retire. If he's as much of an egomaniac as I think he is, he'll play.
