I'm infuriated with the Patriots

broncos allowed 20 or more in 8 games, 3 less than the Pats.. So going by this stat the Pats defense is somewhat on the same level.....

DEN allowed 20+ points in 42 percent of their games.

NE allowed 20+ points in 61 percent of their games.

The biggest difference was DEN's tough defense down the important stretch of the postseason, allowing less than 20 in 4/5 games to end the year, which included the final 3 outings (all playoff games).

In comparison, NE allowed 20+ in their last 4 games to end the season.

It's good to see the progress made on our defensive side of the ball, but I wouldn't compare them to one of the best defensive efforts we've seen in awhile like DEN. They just won the freaking SB with almost no offensive output whatsoever.

This should've been our Super Bowl. And now the Broncos are about to be Champions. ARGGGHH!!!:mad:

We really f'ed ourselves by not going for HFA or those FGs
I hate to get all conspiracy theory here but there something about this season that seemed really . . . orchestrated. Too much weirdness in a league that was just exposed conclusively as being corrupt. It's in the NBA zone now.

You stated that games are won and lost on the lines.

I agree.

Do you believe that Carolina's lines outplayed Denver's lines?

Absolutely not, Denver's lines did a much better job.

Elway put together a SB winning team with an over the hill Manning who is at best a game manager, BB had a team that fall apart at the end of the season with TFB, who is playing at an extremely high level.

This isn't like the 2010 team, that choked away a potential SB.

Here's what "falling apart" was this year:
Plus injuries to Edelman, Amendola, LaFell, Stork, Vollmer, Collins, Hightower, and Jones.

I really though id be satisfied with 4, but man the hunger never stops. Infuriating.
I love it actually. It's kind of the beauty of it to always have that desire for more. Which is back after a year of being content with being the defending champs.

Steelers fans should be even more pissed off. They had Denver dead to rights in Denver and a fumble broke the game for them. HFA wouldn't have mattered if the coaching showed up in the AFCCG. Some uncharacteristically terrible calls in that game. That and the idiot OL coach not noticing Denver keying on Stork and making the appropriate adjustments.

I'm mad at BB not the Pats. He made head scratching decisions... But I guess that's why he is the great HC he is.
Hard to even imagine what he was thinking in his questionable coaching decisions this year ....unfortunately with BB he is always trying to outthink everyone in the room (watch the draft when the analysts have to fumble around with the player rosters trying to find some unknown TE that played for Southwest Mississippi Christian Teachers University...that BB takes in the first round)

He's brought us 4 SBs and taken us to others....got to be grateful....but man I would love to know what angle he is trying to take when he makes some of these boneheaded decisions!

Only thing laughable is your take that the defense isn't good. Defense was good enough to win a SB last year and a SB this year and will be good enough to win a SB next year. All you chicken littles during '09-'13 whined about having a defense that was a SB caliber winning defense and now the Pats have one and you people have changed your tune to it not being dominant enough..

You might have had a point had the Pats not won the SB last year but you don't have a point now. And let's be clear, for as dominant as you want to make the broncos defense out to be they were Belichick deciding to take 3 points with 6 minutes to go away from possibly losing that game.

Either you are not reading my posts before replying or you have comprehension issues. One is not excusable and the other means your mom or dad should sit with you to help read or reply messages.
I have never written that the defense of the New England Patriots it's not good. I think it's GREAT.
I simply said the Denver defense is one for the AGES. Elway deserves credit for having gotten the players for it and the coaches to prepare it. Even you (JMC00, who seems challenged in the simple exercise of reading words on a message board) could step in and probably read defenses with similar success but have THAT defense bail you out.
Think about this:
As great as Tom Brady has been in the Super Bowl. As great as our teams (Defense) have been in the Super Bowl. As BAD as the Denver offense is... The Broncos had a greater margin of victory last night than ALL 4 of our wins COMBINED.

I reckon he'd have traded down and then drafted Tyron Smith. Still can't get over how good that first round was. Why Ras-I? why?
See my post on BB blunderous decisions and there being NO answer for them....ESPECIALLY IN THE Draft!! :))

The Patriots have nobody but themselves to blame. From the Denver game on, they lost games they should have won.
Yeah, so did Denver.

The more I watched of that Super Bowl, the more the pats should be embarrassed for giving up two TD passed to Manning.

He was done all season and his second best game against the Pats.

The Broncos defense is great, but how Daniels burned Collins twice will always be stupefying to me.

I think you're missing the elephant in the room: the Denver D-line beating our O-line like a rented mule.
BB should let someone else by the groceries in building the OL....yes we had injuries but my god we have some tomato cans on that OL....Brady knocked down 23 times?! That stat is stunning....and points directly at BB....

The Bronco's won with a good team win and an excellent defense...

So now we bash BB and his ability to draft?? The same BB who has kept us on top for 16 years?? Woulda, coulda shoulda..

This forum has turned into the "short attention span theater", once again..

Check back in 16 years and see what Kubiak has done before the canonization commences..

Ever since the SB win last year it has been one big year of Bullsh1t!

I didn't think you could win a Super Bowl with basically getting nothing from your offense all season

It was more important to establish the run for a 32 year old running back.

Denver also had plenty of injuries over the year, the difference is that Elway isn't shy about going after and paying for top talent. He'll grab Evan Mathis, DeMarcus Ware, Emmanuel Sanders, etc, if it'll make the team better.

Ah no big deal. Don't be a spoiled brat

Very well said. It is as if sometimes he is thinking calculus when it's simple algebra....but the man is great.
I'll get over this season later in life.
