Josh Norman repeats several times "It's hard to play two teams" :

Panthers CB Josh Norman: 'It's hard to play two teams' - NFL.com

Coincidence? I've for the first time ever said that on a couple of occasions myself this past season.

Does NFL have a hand to tip scales? Is it good for the hands that feed if a certain someone goes out a winner??
NFL Sponsorship Revenue Totals $1.15 Billion In 2014 Season

I said many times before the season even started that the NFL will surely want one of the good guy teams to win. To me, that meant PIT, IND, GB.

I never considered Manning and the Broncos, but really it's the ultimate storyline.

I've said millions of times like beating a dead horse. It's a multi billion dollar industry that has permeated the lives of hundreds of millions of people. They will not just "let it ride". The parity thing is great on the surface but by the time high draft picks get good, they either leave the "poorer" teams or get overpaid and handcuff their current teams' payroll. It's a lose-lose.

If we had a justice system worth half a damn anymore, the NFL would be investigated for multiple things. Raids would be carried out simultaneously on NFL headquarters, NFLPA, and the offices and auxiliaries of all 32 NFL teams. Yes this includes the Patriots but can't ask for everyone else and not them. The fallout would be astounding and would be the biggest story outside of landing on the moon in the past 60 years.

Of course this would never happen, but it should. The Giants '07 SB would be stripped for certain. The Ravens in '12 as well. There are more I am sure, but boy do I wish a day such as that would happen. The NFL as currently constituted would be dead and a better one would rise up.

Cmmon guys that's sore loser talk right there. Denver defense dominated the whole game and Cam didn't have the fire in his belly that you need to be champion. Denver wanted it more just like 12 Ravens did and the 07 Giants did.

I wouldn't say that. If anything, Deflategate should have opened many eyes to what's happening. It's all in front of us. All you have to do is look and its there. I wouldn't say that's bad. Not at all.
In some ways it isn't. I agree with some of the theories that the NFL does pick favorites, but I can't buy into the whole thing of the NFL deciding winners. I saw that game today, and even if Carolina got some of those calls, the way that Denver defense was playing... they probably weren't going to do much with it even if they got those calls. Plus it's not like Denver got off flag free. They got called for the hold on 4th and 1 that could have been very pivotal if the game turned out different.

And they freakin won by two touchdowns. Cam and the Panthers looked overwhelmed by the lights. Denver beat the Steelers, Patriots, and Panthers with their defense suffocated three of the top scoring teams in the league. They deserved the win they wanted it more just like past SB champions.

The first touchdown of the game was set up by an incomplete pass that was clearly complete. If they get that call correct the strip sack does not happen two yards from the end zone.

When you fumble the ball and stand there and look at it on the ground in a 6pt game with under 5 minutes left to play, i have a hard time subscribing to ref theories why you lost.

This forum has taken some bad, unfortunate turns since deflategate..
What do you expect? While I don't necessarily agree to the extent of this poster's assertions, I do believe that deflategate is completely fabricated for some reason and it opens the door for people to make assumptions about other things. Seriously, in the long term, Goodell has done more damage to the integrity of the game from his handling of Spygate , Ray Rice, Deflategate and others I'm sure due to his ineptness of crushing these stories before they blew up. Pete Rozelle and Paul Taglibue, where have you gone? Even though a lot of people outside of NE love seeing the Patriots get dragged and smeared by it, they all have to believe on a subconscious level that it is all BS and have developed a bit of trepidation and wariness towards the shield.

It was a 6pt game with around 5 minutes left. That two touchdown win is purely cosmetic.. don't make it sound like Denver was in control of that game, because they were not.. at least not anymore than Carolina was.

Yeah, that was unfortunate, and left me mumbling about NFL favoritism. Bottom line though is that Denver was emotionally ready for this and Carolina wasn't.

I'm reminded of the NBA teaching process, where Boston taught Detroit how to win, and Detroit taught Chicago how to win. The Detroit and Chicago players all talked about learning how to achieve a championship by losing on the court to a team that was mentally ready for it. Perhaps Carolina will learn in that way, too. It's now up to their coaches and team leaders to respond in a manner that will make that possible.

Based on your post I'm assuming that you are unaware of the lengths the league has taken to tell lies, manufacture data and publicly defame this team and its star player without actual evidence so it can improve competitive balance in the league, save its own ass from embarrassment and face with the NFLPA.

i agree 01 was totally staged.....

oh wait .... no i dont.
They tried to, they let the Rams put a telescope above the Patriots practice. To this day I still wonder just how big of an effect the Rams cheating had on the game. Forever changed Brady and Vinatieri's careers to get that final drive. In a way, their careers were fueled by the Ram's cheating.

To be fair, with that offense the Broncos are really only half a team.

I definitely think there was questionable officiating, but Carolina had no chance in that game so it wouldn't have mattered. That bizarre punt return by the Broncos perfectly summed up the game, Carolina couldn't handle the pressure.

Cam sailed multiple passes over receivers' heads...and jumped out of the way of a scrum for a fumble. Pretty poor performance by him.

I was scared when Manning came into the Chargers game, that this would happen. First we had Jerome Bettis in Detroit, was that the SB with Seattle? Because we all know how that went. Then you have Ray Lewis against SF with a complete mugging in the end zone of 49ers receiver to win the game that goes uncalled, compared to that momentary hook of Thomas. Then Brady getting called for a safety on a dubious grounding penalty against the Giants. Followed by Manning, and his Broncos, who got what they needed. If that PI/holding penalty gets called for Ginn, the Panthers have the ball first and goal from the nine. It doesn't take much, late hits on both Brady and Newton were allowed, that would have changed the tenor of the game. When they missed the field goal my first thought was that it was because Talib distracted him just enough with pressure, only to find out he was way offsides. Denver's defense was smothering, but that only makes these missed calls all the more important.
Don't think they outright fix the game buto in tight games a correctly timed call or non-call can make. huge difference.
