I agree 100% that Denver won this game with their D. What I refuse to give in on is this ref crew MADE SURE that Carolina was off balance and discombobulated the entire game. They got a 15 yard penalty that brought the ball from the 50 to the 35 on a harmless shove after a play. Ridiculous call. The non PI call was even worse in the 2nd half. THAT was 100% MUST BE CALLED PI...nothing.... ridiculous. Refs are supposed to make obvious calls when the occur, especially one on one in the middle of the field with the WR wrapped up and being pulled a good five yards before the ball even gets there. If the correct cal ius made ther, it's Panthers ball at the Denver 25, 1st down. They got nOTHING instead. THAT influences the outcome of games PERIOD.

It was a bad call, you're right, but it was one first quarter call. The Denver D dominated. That's why they won.
Put me in with the conspiracy theorists regarding Goodell and his tainted version of the NFL but this result was all on Von Miller and Demarcus Ware.

I'd believe in this conspiracy theory if Peyton had won the SB MVP. As it is the Denver D won the game, not the refs. You could see from the outset that the Panthers were overwhelmed by the lights of the biggest stage.

Complete bs call. Had hand completely under ball and if anything touched it was barely the tip. If that **** was incomplete then how the hell was Tyree's a catch?

call on the field was a catch. it was not enough evidence to overturn it. happens all the time in the nfl

MVP isn't chosen by league, or else he just might've. I read a tweet about some writers picking Manning for MVP....

Panther's weren't ready. No conspiracy here.

Hmmm...anything in your summary about Denver's defense completely smothering the Panthers? Or was the Panther O in on it as well?

I know that this must stick in your craw, but the Denver offense didn't do shyte without the help of the refs..

For God's sake the Panthers got demolished. Yes, the refs were biased, but that doesn't explain this assault any more than our loss last week.

Let me know when Denver's offense does something without the help of the refs.. Because the Carolina defense was smothering as well.

not enough evidence. and that wasn't even a deciding factor. Broncos D got to cam all day and panthers couldn't run. and WRs couldn't get open. recipe for disaster. panthers weren't ready for the big stage.

we blew it. we should've won our 5th title. blame injuries and awful coaching to blow the home field advantage.

we will be back better than ever next year. just hope we stay healthy at the end.

Clearly you are blind. The photo Joker posted is PLENTY of evidence to show that it was a catch. How can you say it wasn't a deciding factor when the very next play resulted in an all out blitz by Denver that resulted in a strip sack of Newton for the TD? That play changed the whole game.

Manx - That call led directly to 7 points and Denver's Defense KNOWING they had gotten into Newton's head. The resulting play gave Denver all the momentum they needed for the rest of the game..

No. This is DB's M.O. Go back to almost every loss by the Pats over the years and you'll find a post or thread of his blaming the referees for the loss instead of the team. The same is true now. He was obviously rooting really hard against the Broncos and can't outright admit that Denver's defense was absolutely dominant and the real reason the Broncos won so he finds a scapegoat. Denver held the best offense in the league to either 10 or 13 points, depending on how you look at it. Either way, you're not going to win too many Super Bowls in today's NFL with that kind of offensive output.

Further, I'd like to see the posts where he "called this all along". If so, why the hell were you watching the game? It was boring as hell anyway. What's the point if they're going to do everything they can to sign, seal, and deliver Lombardi #2 to Manning and you just know it and called it for weeks on end?

The ball is touching the ground and both hands are on top.

Incomplete.

You cant blame the refs for Carolina missing a FG and for Cam just standing there after he fumbled AGAIN in the redzone.

Despite getting pounded into the turf all day way worse than Cam did, Brady fought back and did not quit like Cam. Newton is a baby when things don't go his way. So, the game went exactly like I bet it would when I took Denver and no points. Superman is a choker.

On that catch, it seems the ball touched the ground and because he didn’t have complete control yet it's an incompletion (the fact that the ball was dislodged upon hitting the ground is actually evidence that he did not have control). Or at the very least, reasonable enough to not overturn the call on the field.

No conspiracy needed. People way too quick to impose conspiracy. His hand wasn't fully under the ball on that first bounce, but ball+hand hit ground at same time. Which means the ball hit the ground.

WTF are you looking at? It's plain as day that the ball isn't touching the ground in that picture..

Kontra - You're wrong. I only call out the refs when, indeed, they are the issue.

Please show me where I said Denver's defense wasn't dominant? OH. You can't. Because it didn't happen.
You also can't show me where Denver's offense did anything without the help of the Refs.

As to where I said it weeks ago, it's on this board. In at least two different places. And I only watched it because I was at my S-I-L's house for dinner and they had it on.. Sorry that reality flies in the face of your fantasy world..

Gotta love people who have to resort to fiction.

It's plain as day that Cotchery's hand is fully under the ball. The ball and his hand do not touch the ground at the same time. The back of his hand and wrist clearly touch the ground prior to the ball. Furthermore, the rule says that the ball CAN touch the ground as long as he maintains control. And, if you watch, it's not until after he hits the ground and starts rolling that the ball comes loose.. And the ball is off the ground by that time. In fact, it's his right elbow that jostles it. and after the jostle, the ball never touches the ground. In fact, his left hand stays on the ball the entire time.

The rule is pretty clear that the ball can touch the ground while in control. And that's what happened.. I know that it's tough for you to understand..

The refs missed Talib being off-sides on the missed field-goal. It's pretty bad when the replay shows it. That would have changed the 44 yard FG to a 39 yard FG. Gano probably wouldn't have missed that one.
