they write those articles just to piss of pats fans.

Perhaps but only if you're willing to read them.

I don't know if Brady is the best of all time (I think he is but I mean others) but I know damn well he's better than manning.

If only because, unless Brady's arm ****ing literally falls off this off season, his longevity and him getting better says alot more about his skill set than what manning had. Imo anyway.

And I actually like manning.

what if peyton comes back to denver for one more season? they might be able to carry his old ass to another SB with that defense and homefield..

His Dad said tonight that he's probably played his last game in Denver.

Which is why he will come back. Already whispers they won't franchise Osweiler. He played well enough for a QB needy team to take a flyer on him a la Cassell. You don't do that unless you know you have a QB.

hoping he just goes away. no point in returning for another season. hell, he might wait all offseason like farve to announce his decision. nobody loves attention more than peyton...

dont worry, i wont read any of the articles. will avoid sports shows for awhile...
denver's defense won tonight, brock could of been under center. same result..

well enough??? 130 yards and a pick??? worse than dilfer...:D

Anyone who elevates his legacy based on this game is an idiot, period.

He literally rode the back of that defense. I'm happy for the guy now that the rivalry is over, but Denver's D was so good, there's probably 10 QB's this year that would have led them to an undefeated record and GOAT team status.

Manning had his chances in '09 and '13, and pick sixed a ring away then got flat out embarrassed. Even in our SB losses, Brady left the defense with a lead at the end of the game.

Meh.

Using Pro Bowl voting as evidence that one player is better than another is a case of the tail wagging the dog. The 'done more with less' line has been thoroughly proven wrong previously. And if I am not mistaken, Chase Stuart is a die hard Colts fan, so quoting him is a bit disingenuous.

Other than that, Mrs Lincoln thought the play was fine.
Why anyone would bother with an advanced stats guy's opinion is beyond my understanding. They're number crunchers and little more.

43-8 that will never be forgotten

If the Steelers just hadn't choked he'd be 11-14 in the playoffs with 10 one and dones

What should have been

Manning is the greatest ad-man in NFL history of all time. Did you see the way he effortlessly redirected retirement questions into a plug for Budweiser? He puts Brady's Uggs sales and Rodgers' discount double check to shame.

Who cares if the media kisses mannings ass more than brady????

brady has 4 rings......manning just rode his defense's coattails to get #2

manning is more of a media guy than brady.....despite being ugly, he is more comfortable on camera and poking fun at himself, etc

nothing blows my mind more than how much so many people here are so defensive about brady

Considering how the national sports media has swayed public perception over the last twelve months in both reporting and opinions they have written and stated, why would that surprise you?
i agree that the media and the league have gone after brady while sweeping the manning stuff under the rug

definite hypocrisy and double standard

probably cause they are jealous of the patriots and resent BBs understated arrogance.....plus manning is a moneymaker in regards to advertising, etc.....hes a ham for the camera

but this fanbase has always been very sensitive about brady.....even more so than other fanbases are about their star players in my opinion

What other fanbases have had this type of situation?

The Saints with Sean Payton come to mind, but although he was suspended for a year, he does not receive the anywhere near the same backlash in the court of public opinion - and that is before comparing the vast differences between the two situations.

If there was no constant media fueled enthroning of Manning + defamation of Brady and the Patriots, to the point where you can't even go out in public (outside MA) without some casual fan or non-fan making a "cheater" comment (or asking about it) while simultaneously having the name "Peyton Manning" etched into their minds by the media as "the best" ---------- then I and most Pats fans wouldn't be so defensive.

regarding this past year.....you are absolutely correct

the level of vilification and coverage over a couple of text messages was ridiculous

but even before that stuff, patriot fans were pretty touchy about brady

i occasionally peruse other message boards.....im a loser

favre and the packers.....manning and the colts......duncan and the spurs......kobe and the lakers.....lebron, etc

it always seemed like patriots fans felt the need to "protect" brady more than i saw anywhere else

just my opinion.....i might be wrong.....im pretty stupid

i think it has something to do with bradys personality

i think brady has a boyish vulnerability to his personality that brings it out a little bit

Honestly, I'd have been really pissed off if Manning had had a great game and thrown for 300 plus yards and 3 TDs. Anyone who watched the game knows that he did absolutely nothing to contribute to the win, it was all the defense. There's no spinning that whatsoever. 130something yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT and a fumble is not even Brad Johnson game-manager type stuff. Put Brock in the game, not only do they still win, they also put up more points.

People used to accuse Brady of riding the coattails of his defense in the first 3 SBs, but here are Brady's stat lines from all 6 SBs he's played in:

(36) 16/27 145 1/0 (last minute drive to set up Vinateri/MVP)

(38) 32/48 354 3/1 (last minute drive to set up Vinateri/MVP)

(39) 23/33 236 2/0 (Branch MVP, deservedly so, but Brady played well)

(49) 37/50 328 4/2 (Most completitions ever in a SB/Came back from a 10 point deficit in the 4th quarter/MVP)

In the two losses:

(42) 29/48 266 1/0 (Go ahead TD with 2 minutes to go)

(46) 27/41 276 2/1

Manning's thrown 3 TDs and 5 INT total in the 4 SBs he's played in. Brady? 13/4 in 6.

I just hope he goes away for good now. I'm betting he won't (he wants that one regular season win to break Favre's record that Brady will surpass by the beginning of the 2017 season anyway.)

One thing I am sure of...he's played his last game in Denver. Elway got what he wanted and has no need for a burnt out Peyton anymore. But sadly, he'll be on another team next year unless someone outside of the NFL decides to investigate the HGH thing or he decides that if he retires, it'll go away.
