Three main reasons, I think.

1. He's not a lifelong Democrat, yet now he's running for what among other things is the role of party leader. Not tearing his opponent down probably saves him from getting grief about that. Indeed, I've barely heard it mentioned.

2. He knows he might lose the nominating contest. In that case, he doesn't want to have torn down the winner.

3. Every political candidate or other marketer has an implicit BS "budget". BS up to a certain level, and you're OK; people either forgive you for engaging in usual and customary amounts of puffery, or else they actually believe you and don't know that it's BS. Sanders is campaigning heavily on an image of honesty/authenticity, so his BS budget is smaller than many candidates'.

Sanders is spending his BS budget almost entirely in several major areas:
  • Pretending his numbers add up.
  • Pretending certain proposals have a chance of passing.
  • Pretending he has more than a nodding acquaintance with issues of national security.
I salute him for all those choices. They're strategically shrewd, and by political standards pretty ethical. But given all that, he doesn't have enough BS "budget" left over to wallow in the e-mail nonsense.

We're getting off track here people.
This is a football thread not a discussion of national socialist party strategies.

@flasox27

How about contributing to the discussion rather than throwing dislikes on a) things you have no idea about or b) facts that you seem to want to dispute?
The reason I placed a dislike on your response was related to your political opinions which may be correct do not belong on this site. I added the additional dislike in response to your dislike of my opinion I will remove it now.

Funny....it's email "nonsense" when Mrs. Doubtfire, I mean Hillary is implicated..... but not for General Petraeus.
I admire the left's ability to selectively apply double standards as needed. The cause always comes first.....refer to Ted Kennedy......untouchable.

I wonder what Hillary Clinton has to do with HGH sent to Archie Manning's wife.

Hillary is implicated..... but not for General Petraeus.

Petraeus deliberately shared classified information with a woman he was having an adulterous relationship with. He got a slap on the wrist.

Clinton handled information that wasn't classified but perhaps should have been in a way that was badly inconsistent with wise information security practices. Conservatives accuse her of treason.

Uh, so this got political...isn't there a place for that here? But to refute your assertion I presently work at a place where encountering classified info is common. And trust me, you don't just carry things around on flash drives or send sensitive email to your gmail account. That gets you in deep ****, or fired if it's deliberate or negligent enough. Jail is absolutely in the equation too. And that's what we are talking about here. Sensitive and/or classified info being held and transmitted to/from an unsecured private server. You DO realize that the argument of "classification after the fact" is ******** right? Because the originating agency has control over that. If the originating agency says its top secret, guess what...it's classified as top secret. What was done is patently illegal. Just not sure anyone will press the matter. But I assure you, had I done the exact same thing, I would BE IN JAIL.

So because she's a strong and assertive person, you think she isn't really a woman?
I think it is more because both share a struggle with their MAN-erisms and both share fashion designers.

Agreed 100%, I work in comm for the Air Force and on our base if you even put a usb into the computer people are immediately alerted and you will get a phone call within seconds. There's noway you couldn't know that isn't allowed.
