Let the trade speculation begin!

Mallet sucked, even when he played against the stiffs, and that's what almost everyone except some posters here saw. We shouldn't underrate JAG's value just because Mallet was wildly overrated by people here.
im just going to point out that I didnt like the Mallet pick, but I understand that BB values having a backup QB who knows his system more than fans do. However in the case of Mallet he has had some very good games in his pro career, just none of them were here.

Cleveland Browns draft needs are: WR - DE - MLB.

They are $35 million under the cap ...
Any chance we can pry that 2nd round pick from them with a package including Chandler Jones.

We could then land Spriggs who plays well in a zone blocking scheme by trading down a bit and gaining a pick.

Cleveland's pretty clueless and brought in a baseball guy to do the metrics on who they acquire this offseason. I think Belichick should trade pro-bowlers Randy Moss, Steve Nelson, and Richard Seymour for Cleveland's 1st and 4th rounders in 2016. Maybe throw in Jackie Bradley, Jr. The Browns won't figure out what happened until week 4 or week 5.

This would have been funnier if you went straight to the Jackie Bradley JR punch line. But touche anyway.

Here's a thought - Jimmy G to Cleveland for their second round pick plus Gordon should he be reinstated. The pick would very nearly be first round level.
Aladin seems like a good dude why would you want to do that to him? plus i wouldn't want gordon, he'll fall off the wagon and if he were on the pats goodell would ban him for life. So it would be a wast.

Jimmy G turns 25 during next season & is now at his peak value going foreward.

I expect Brady to play at least 3 more seasons.

Do we let Jimmy G walk after his 4th season & sign with someone else in 2018? I would think Jummy G would want to start at some point.

I sure don't see the Pats trading Brady, although his talent & cap numbers over the next two season would make teams drool.

I would see what we can get for Jimmy G & Cleveland would be the first team I would talk to.

Cleveland needs a QB desperately &
I doubt they want to use their 2nd overall pick on a QB that is a major gamble at best. There are no real top notch QB prospects in this years draft. They may like Jimmy G as much or Moore than Paxton Lynch or Carson Wentz.

Why not see if we can get the 1st pick in the 2nd round #32 overall &
The Browns 4th round pick in 2017.
This would basically get us our picks back that Goodell took from us.

It is not that I want to trade Jimmy G. I just want to give Brady the weapons he needs to get his 5th Championship.

No one's giving us anything of substance for Jimmy. Fans and media seem to assume that a QB drafted/signed here has been touched by the hand of God (a.k.a. Belichick) and will be able to fetch 1st or 2nd round picks without even playing a meaningful down of football.

When Belichick has drafted guys like Mallett and O'Connell in the third round, both of whom have flamed out, the credibility of his draft acumen at the position naturally comes into question. He has not drafted a successful QB in his tenure here aside from Brady. And let's be honest -- he fell ass backwards into Brady. you don't take a guy in the 6th round expecting him to become an all time great. If Mo Lewis doesn't injure Bledsoe, who knows if Brady ever even sees the field here.

If you look at recent BB/Pat's off season history, they usually try and follow,a pattern. If the Pat's are going to lose a significant player or two to FA, then the Pat's try and stay away from th big FA signing in order to gain mor comp picks. (They have 4 coming to them for this draft, most likely a 3rd rounder for Revis). This off season, the Pats have very few FAs and none that will garner a significantly contract. So they are free to sign a number of FAs.

If they don't get franchised (unlikely) I would take a run at both Wilkerson and Von Miller, if for nothing else to raise their pricetags.
