Tom Brady to attend NFL's Super Bowl 50 ceremony despite Deflategate flap USA Today link

Mods please merge if I missed the other thread.

The hope of getting the process server delivering the subpoena on camera yet lives. (Before someone claims Brady will not want to go through discovery, 31 owners going through discovery with a union guy seems OK to you? Beside, what is your anti-McNally and Jastremski suit argument?)

Smart move for Brady, the mediots might assume by not going he is backing down from this engagement.. or avoiding any possible confrontation. Look the rat bastard right in his beady little eyes..

I certainly hope if he has to shake that piece of schitt Goodells hand Brady doesn't smile, doesn't engage in one of Goodells draft day bro hugs, and doesn't slap him on the back. F#ck the NFL....

And instead, responds like this...

Bob Kraft will also attend. His job is to hold up a sign with an asterisk on it, and on any mention of Brady or the Pats, he will shake his head "no" and wave the sign really fast. Also, he will be wearing a jersey with number 31 that includes the logos of every other team in the league.

If I were him I wouldn't be there. Certainly can't blame him, though, for taking pride in his amazing career and being one of only two 3 time SB MVPs.

Wonder if Deion Branch will be there too. Deion could have been MVP of 38 too crazily enough (although Brady definitively had him beat by a bit). One of the most clutch receivers of all time.

Tommy and Deion will probably carpool. BFFs.

I never thought he wouldn't go; it wouldn't have been classy and it would be all people would be talking about if he hadn't shown (they still talk about Montana's not showing the last time they did something like this).

Doesn't mean Brady has to stay for the game, which I imagine he won't, but he and Montana will be the only ones to have their names called out three times, assuming that they go in order from I to XLIX.

Plus, he probably doesn't get many chances to wear the four rings, which I believe he should conspicuously do so they can be seen when he waves to the crowd....come to think of it, he should give Goodell a very firm handshake three times so he feels each one of those rings...

He's classier than I would be. Still, if that POS Goodell sticks out his hand, I hope that TB12 just stares at him and says "Sorry, I'm not getting my hands dirty today"

This event is to honor him and the other Super Bowl MVPs. It isn't about Goodell. I have no problem with him attending. Why shouldn't he be honored for being a three time Super Bowl MVP?

He will have plenty of other opportunities to shove it back in Goodell's face starting on March 3rd.

I believe the only Super Bowl MVPs that will not be there are Harvey Martin (deceased), Bart Starr and Chuck Howley.

Thanks for defining that properly for me. My friend has been bugging me all day, asking what Brady will do if Goodell tries to hug him (like that). He listens to D & C, so not sure if he picked it up from there or not.

Great move Tom

I think Brady should be there for himself, the fans who root for him, the game of football, but certainly not for the owners/current regime. However, he shouldn't have to deal with any fans booing him (though I would anticipate some people like that) and certainly not any media shots with Goodell (that would be classless of the NFL*).

It's just a shame that in all likelihood he will probably be the only person who gets booed. I feel for the guy. I'm glad he's attending though. The boos he'll hear are much better than the backlash we'd see if he didn't attend.

This is what some people have a hard time understanding.

Tom should obviously shake his hand. He has huge mitts and tremendous arm and hand strength. He just accidentally crushes every bone in his marshmallow hand, then says sorry.

I'm glad he's attending. The momentum has been going his way for a long time andi I think this will only add to it. The ceremony is to honor Super Bowl MVP's and he is in rare air in that regard so the haters and douchebags can boo all they want all it will do is expose them for being the douchebags and haters they are.
