Here's the most damning aspect of Goodell's and especially Blandino's remarks. Blandino said they were still evaluating the data but the they had found violations. Well, how can you still be "evaluating" yet be sure of what the data show - no violations?
But that's not the bomb, this is - if any one of the footballs checked at half time in and cold/wet weather games started out at 12.5psi, then it is impossible that football still had the league minimum of 12.5psi reading when the "spot check" was done at half time. So if there were "no violations," then does that mean the league is acknowledging that footballs deflate from weather and thus no teams were held responsible for their half time psi? It can't be one or other - either all the scientists are wrong and the NFL has been right all along and the Ideal Gas Law doesn't exist or the NFL recorded footballs that were below the league minimum at half time at some cold/wet game this year.
So how could there be no violations? It's essentially impossible. Or, the NFL is lying, which is more likely?
