Goodell through the eyes of Mark Leibovich, NY Times

too bad he missed the PATHOLOGICAL LIAR part of Goodell's "character"

I love this BS by these NY guys who claim "and I'm a Pats fan! Really I am!"...GFY azzole

I'm glad that I read this before I clicked on the link.

I didn't think that I could drop MLB after a lifetime of being a fan, but I did. And I never missed it one bit. It actually made me feel better knowing that I wasn't supporting the game anymore. I expect to feel the same way when I dump the NFL after Brady leaves.
I probably could, but I was a Patriots lunatic long, long before Tom Brady was born and I'll continue long after he retires. Too old to change.

Among other things, I feel like the games are being rigged by the people responsible for the administration of the league. The NYJFL is not "my cup of tea" any longer and if not for Brady I'd already be gone. I'll still be here though, talking about the years before Brady retired.

Not to belabor the exchange, but your comment about believing the games are being rigged struck a nerve with me. Last Friday afternoon at our local watering hole, I told a friend that not long ago I used to to laughingly mock tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists who spoke about rigged games. Now, I have my own tin foil hat and the events of the last couple of years have caused me to believe that this commissioner and his minions are capable of the most unethical, dirty, underhanded stunts. Nothing, including rigged games, is out of the realm of possibility with these scumbags.

The problem is that with the concussion issue, HGH/drug testing, Ray Rice, the Spygate/Deflategate bag jobs, and the officiating snafus, the league has a major issue with transparency and credibility. That leads to mistrust and a question to what lengths will they go to protect their institution, make their product more marketable and generate more revenue.

If it meant another $500m in revenue or it furthered the NFLs interests, is manipulating the outcome of games something that they would consider doing?

I think so.

I think the uneven enforcement of rules by the NYJFL (tampering, warming up of balls, Tripgate 1 - Jets, Tripgate 2 - Tomlin, punishment of the Pats in 2007 for nothing, bountygate) that they're willing to manipulate the outcome of games on the field. They want parity and it appears that they will go to any lengths to achieve that. There's also the personal agenda driven by people like Kensil that supports that claim.

In a thread during this season I made a comment that I can't wait for Brady to retire so that I could dump the NYJFL. I know that sounds harsh, and of course I want Brady to play as long as possible, but I'm truly sick of the direction the NYJFL is heading.

In case you were wondering.."is this guy Joker serous?" about the constant Goodell bashing...I give you further evidence marked Exhibit 10,822....

autographing Jet fan's jerseys while hob nobbing with the Jets...where does it end with this goddamned cretin?

A Jets jersey autographed by Roger Goodell? That's got to have a negative value on the memorabilia market, right?

Therein lowering the value of the jersey even further.

Actually, GHW Bush was a pretty good baseball player. He captained the Yale baseball team that made it to second place in the college World Series in the late 40s. Though he was born on third base, he had the ability to hit a triple.
He was also the youngest fighter pilot in World War 2 enlisting on his 18th birthday and was shot down by Japanese zeroes....was in a raft for a few hours before being rescued..Guy paid his dues and deserved better than the Ann Richards quote.....

Dale, Holley and Thornton just sort of ripped the author for not asking Goodell and/or the owners about DG. Their conclusion: it's a piece written for a NY and national audience and no one outside of NE gives a crap about DG anymore. Hard to argue that point.

Can't even read it. Those people are so over the top smug and condescending just makes me angry. It's why I don't buy jerseys anymore.
Me either. And i'm done with Madden as well. Not another dime for this dictator and his cronies.
