BTW turd blossom I'm still waiting for you to tell us which AFC teams are in a better situation to win the AFC next season? You made a big stink about how woeful the Patriots chances are but still haven't been able to tell us who is better off?

Not that I'm surprised by it but we are still waiting.........and will be for a long time, no doubt.

???

Yup, let's improve on Brady, Lewis, Gronk and Edelman.

I believe he was talking about LaFell & Amendola. Don't you think we can improve on them.?????

Amendola can never be counted onto stay healthy. Also a guy with 13 total touchdowns over 7 seasons should be a bench player at a low salary. If he will take a low salary, he is ok as a 4th or 5th WR.

Unless the o-line improves with either talent or experience it doesn't really matter much who is running the ball. It'll be interesting what the coaching staff thinks and does with the line.

I do feel better about the O line after hearing how they were "tipping" off the snap counts which would be a scheme fix rather than a personnel fix. Not saying they shouldn't draft an O line guy.

I'm not going to make your job completely easy, but here's 2.

Pittsburgh.
Oakland.

I picked NE and outlined why at length. You go right ahead and make your case sparky.

The Raiders, too f.cking funny

IMHO, we should learn to separate issues.

Almost all of us agree that we need to improve the OL. All of us understand that we need much better performance than in 2015. Most of us want to replace 2-4 of our offensive linemen.

I STRONGLY DISAGREE with your idea that it doesn't matter who runs the ball. We tried that approach with Jackson, Bolden and White.

We need a thumper. Some think Blount is good enough. Some want better. Some think that Gaffney is the man.

IMHO, improvement in the OL is indeed the highest priority. For me, getting a solid RB is the second highest free agent priority.

I go back and forth on the idea of upgrading the RB position. If they upgrade the O line either by better coaching or better personnel wouldn't that also improve the running game? If yes than I think the combination of Lewis, White and Blount will get the job done. The job being run effectively enough to open up the passing game.

Couldn't disagree more. Amendola gets injured but so does every other slot receiver in football, it may be the most dangerous position on the field because it is usually smaller quicker receivers who play that role and they spend their games going across the middle and getting crushed by bigger defenders who often get to line up the shot well in advance, although Brady is about as good as they get at keeping the ball in safer places. Amendola is as tough as they get and holds on to the most difficult catches, usually at really critical points in the game. His number don't come close to reflecting his actual value and while agree he needs to redo his deal they also need to keep him around. Had they not had him when Edelman went down Brady would have been completely screwed.

The Patriots are failures for only making it to the AFCCG and the Raiders should be favored over them for the AFC title next season.

You really need to put down the crackpipe.

Blount is great against weak run defense's, like the Colts, but I have zero confidence in him against good defenses.

Pittsburgh-I'll explain this one for you. Without the best receiver in football, they put up the same offense you did against Denver. Probably better in some ways based on how the games played out. Starting center out, best RB out, best receiver out, and other issues. The defense, well they held Pey Pey to 0 TDs. 0. How many did the Pats allow? Plus they get a first round pick.

Oakland. My take-lots of young, good talent. Might suprise people.

Ivan's take -David Carr sucks, Amari Cooper sucks and Crabtree can't catch anything. Khalil Mack is a scrub and Latavius Murray sucks. Go Pats!

Pitts has as good of chance, Vegas seems to think so, and then I say Oakland because they have the QB plus receivers to make secondaries miserable. Plus the ability to run the ball.

Looking at the offensive needs, based upon end of year performance:

Every position but QB

That should sum it up

We were talking about our key offensive position players, specifically in the passing game.

But OK, let's presume Brady, Edelman, Gronkowksi and Lewis (and also our #4 WR , Martin).

Can we improve on Amendola and LaFell? Sure. We can improve on everyone of offense except for Brady and Gronkowski. Obviously, that is NOT a relevant question.

You seem to think that the 2015 Amendola and the 2014 LaFell are not good enough to make this is the #1 passing offense in the league, given some protection. I strongly disagree. I think that it is very, very likely that Amendola will be our #2 our #3WR in 2016. As for LaFell, the team will need to judge whether he can regain his form and is worth $2M a year. My guess is that LaFell will come to camp.

We may spend $4M a year for a free agent WR. However, I think guys like Gibson (and Martin) are more likely.

I have been saying Pitt will be their toughest competition next season. Oakland has a shot at the playoffs but claiming they should be favored over NE is ridiculous.

I really think it's about the first down back and not the OL. Belichick drafted 3 interior OL with exceptional run blocking credentials in Mason, Stork and Jackson and if they can bring in a guy like Martin or Forte I think they will take a big step in the run game next season. They will still need to improve their pass protection but combined they only have about 2 years game experience and it showed this season. I am fine with Solder, Vollmer, and with Waddle as one of the backups but I think OT has to be a priority in this draft, and the higher the better imo.

Comments like this smell of troll.

You seem to think that being the #1 passing offense in the regular season holds some deep meaning. We've seen, repeatedly, that it doesn't, as this team's never won the Super Bowl in a year where it led the league in points scored. Also, for the record, this team hasn't been the #1 scoring team in the league since 2012.

  1. This team needs a quality OWR
  2. This team needs a legit TE2
  3. This team needs a legit OT
  4. This team needs a legit IOL AND improved play from the 3 puppies
  5. This team needs either new blood at RB, or more consistent results from LGB (Don't know how much was on the OL)

Blount is a FA. Not sure he'll be back. He's certainly ok, but I'd much rather have a better RB situation. All depends on what it takes to improve.

OL is first priority by a mile. But if they can improve the OL *and* improve the RB situation, this will be a much different team.

Again, my preference is to, in addition to improving the OL (which I've discussed at length) is to add Marshawn Lynch on a short contract.

I think he'd be a freaking animal for this team.
