Patriots Free Agent Profile Steven Jackson

I think the Patriots should extend him. He has experience and won't be expensive at all. Despite the fact that he has been running poorly I wonder how much of it was on the O-line, doubt most power backs would succeed behind our O-line. Of course we should also look into drafting a young RB (ex. Derrick Henry the slightly faster LeGarrette Blount), but it would be great to keep Jackson on the roster.

I'd keep him around until it can be determined if the Oline, properly coached, can actually open some holes.

No. Move on. Need some speed and playmaking ability back there.
I agree, but if somehow we don't sign/draft a quality RB this off-season (like our corner situation last year), I would lean towards Jackson after an off-season of training over Blount after an off-season of eating.

Even at SJs age, I liked him running downhill and the way he took contact. It was enough to remember back 10 years to what a thoroughbred RB looks like in our backfield.

If we could find another David Johnson, I'm all for it.

Does Blount spend his spare time eating or smoking???

Anyways, I think Jackson will stay home and take a nap.

OR go fishing

OR golf

I dont see Blount as a better RB than SJax. We'll disagree there.

David Johnson.....Gawd he is a beast.

I meant SJax > Blount..... so, we agree? :)
No man I dont see SJax as a better option than Blount. Sorry.

With that said I do think that it should not be hugely difficult to find a player better than Blount.

Is this a joke?

I would love to see Steven Jackson in a part time role with the Patriots.

Many a running back would have been stopped on the touchdown Jackson got in the AFC Championship game. He ran hard with power.

He also got great hands which is something nobody ever said about Blount.

He also is not a player who misses much time because of injury. Some people mention Arian Foster. Nobody is hurt more than Foster & his soft tissue.

If we can get Steven Jackson at a team friendly cost.... "SIGN THE BEAST".

Didn't he run for a TD against Denver? If you look, that was actually a solid run--even though he only needed a yard, he fought and was prepared to pick up more after he got into the endzone.

He also had back to back nice runs against KC on Pats second TD--he got a hard 8 on one, followed by a hard 4. In spots, he could pick up extra yards. I don't know if he showed enough to be worth keeping him, and he did have a lot of near 0 gains, but he did show he could be tough to bring down at times.
