How did they do? [NE free agents that signed elsewhere in 2015]

Surprised there's no consensus on Arrington. He got $2.8M guaranteed on his 3-year, $7M deal. He was supposed to be their nickel but ended up their #4/#5 by the end of the season.

Sure, we could have used some more depth, and we were close to disaster if anything had happened to Butler or Ryan. But Arrington was not the answer, especially with that type of guarantee.

As for Vereen, yes, we could have extended him early. I mean it would have been nice for us to also lock up Cassel to a long-term contract before his last season too since we're traveling back in time, might have gotten more for him in a trade if we didn't have to franchise him and then move him to do anything in FA. But we didn't, and the bottom line is it made no sense to match that contract offer from the Giants.

Vereen was a great Patriot player for us, he took that success and got paid in a position that does not have a long life span. I have no hate for him and wish him the best. I don't understand the hate and venom that some have because he signed elsewhere. I'm sure an offer close to what the Giants gave him and he stays.

Not too mention that it seemed like BB hated him

My post is saying looking at the results of the season, which players would have been nice to have.

If you are telling you would rather have lewis and white over lewis and vereen, that's a whole bigger issue, one you would need to bring up with a shrink.

No, I'm not. Vereen is a better receiver than White. Neither is a good running back. I like Lewis with the contract he has.

Of course it would be nice to obtain new players while never losing the old players.

It would also be nice to have younger, cheaper, drafted and/or developed talent ready to assume duties
whenever the older talent become too expensive.
