"Brady’s best ranking was 16th for his performance in Super Bowl XXXVIII against the Carolina Panthers. His comeback effort against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX was right behind at No. 17, and his performance against the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI was ranked No. 32. On the flip side, ESPN recently named Brady the greatest player in Super Bowl history. Deion Branch, the only other New England player to win Super Bowl MVP honors, was ranked No. 37 for his play in Super Bowl XXXIX. Joe Montana, someone Brady often is linked to as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, took home the top spot for his effort in Super Bowl XXIV. Montana was followed by Terry Bradshaw (Super Bowl XIII), Steve Young (Super Bowl XXIX), Doug Williams (Super Bowl XXII), Jerry Rice (Super Bowl XXIII), Emmitt Smith (Super Bowl XXVIII), John Riggins (Super Bowl XVII), Joe Flacco (Super Bowl XLVII), Terrell Davis (Super Bowl XXXII) and Larry Csonka (Super Bowl VIII) in the top 10."

Flacco? Really?

Second-best quote on the Rams sideline in that first Super Bowl...

"Tom Brady? Overrated."

Best quote, of course...

"Tonight, a dynasty is born."

) or averaged so few yards per completion (8.9) as Brady did in this performance. It was more gritty than pretty -- and exactly what the Patriots needed.

more than offsetting the fourth-quarter interception he threw deep in Panthers territory

a conservative passing offense and Adam Vinatieri's winning field goal. Brady completed only two passes on throws traveling 10-plus yards past the line of scrimmage

In an article about superbowl MVPs this is pretty negative

I dont understand any pats fan can watch that station if the pats are not on it

I don't get the lack of respect for Joe Flacco. Never have.
He led his team to the playoffs 6 out of the 8 years he's played, in a fairly tough division.
He led his team to at least one playoff win each of those 6 seasons and a 10-5 record.
He also led his team to the conference title game 3 of those 6 seasons and won it once.
He also has a SB ring.
A team couldn't do much better than Joe Flacco as their QB.

Haters gotta hate...

They hate us, because they ain't us..

NESN quoting ESPN.... come on man!!!!

He has a SB ring because the league wanted to win on for Ray. He is reliant on the jump ball PI offense that if he doesn't have a WR who can do that you see what you get. A lot of teams can do better than Jump Ball Joe.

He has a SB ring because he led his team to 4 wins in the playoffs by averaging 30+ points per game, including 66 points in wins at Denver and at NE and 34 in the SB, where he went 22 of 33 passing with 287 yards, 3 TDs and no INTs. Ray Lewis didn't have much to do with those wins. Like I said, I don't get the lack of respect.

Because of jump balls. That's why. Again. Look to this year. Way before he got injured. No Torrey Smith jump ball type and it went downhill. Hence the name Jump Ball Joe. That's not a QB that demands respect. Far from it. Even I can throw a football short and have a DB run into my receiver.

Flacco is a great playoff QB, yeah he gets PIs but people act like that's the only time he scores. His playoff run was alltime great (11 tds no picks). And he was owning us last year too.

Love me some Riggins...will never forget this, I was living in Northern Virginia at the time it was amazing. It was 4th and 2.....against Miami, which makes it even better:
John Riggins Super Bowl XVII 43-yard TD run - NFL Videos

But yeah, if Brady last year isn't top 10, then it's fubar.

Frankly, Butler should be on that list...
