Bring back Steven Ridley? [2016 Sign the Beast thread #007]

Gronk started 2014 slow.

Whole team started slow in '14..

Also you you didn't say players start out slow, you said they aren't fully themselves the next year. Gronk was Gronk for the majority of that year.

The face of immediate regret.

I'd love to have him back here. Not much care about the tattoo, he's said he'll get a tattoo of whatever teams he plays for.

He wasn't himself this year because of ACL recovery (not everyone can be Adrian Peterson). I'd gladly take him back here on a low end deal for a couple of years. I just wonder if he ever cured his fumble-itis.

Yeah I figured I'd be nitpicked on that. Brady had a down year in 2009, Geno Atkins had a bad year in 2014. It depends when the injury happens and what position they play. And on the other side you have guys like AP and Maclin who have career years after an ACL year. Maybe it goes both ways after all.

Stevan Ridley walks into Belichick's office.

You called coach?

Belichick tosses him a football.

Ridley drops it.

Nevermind.

Would have been real nice to have him against Denver. People here were jumping off buildings when we brought Chung back for cheap.

As long as Ridley has dedicated himself to ball security, he could be a help IMO. Young and knows the system and doesn't stand around waiting for something to happen either.

Third down one handed catch in sb last year kept drive going..

Never mind that was vereen...I suck lol

Are you though? I'm not saying bring back Ridley but Blount is so average. Throw the "he's over 4 YPC" stuff around all you want but he isn't very good. Just watch him run and dance behind the line of scrimmage.

The offensive line being garbage didn't help the situation for any of the RB's this year but we can do better than Blount.
His "dancing" behind the line of scrimmage was more him waiting for a bad offensive line to open up a hole. Even behind a bad oline, he *gasp* averaged over 4 YPC. Legarrette is fine, especially on the cheap.

No way, he is a JAG who had one good year in his career and looks toast.

Bring back steven ridley?

What do you guys think about that? He really didnt do anything on the Jets so his value should be low.

Plus, with a year removed from the acl he should be back to his normal self. Its clear we need a 1st and 2nd down back
YES YES. He is quick to the line, strong, breaks tackles, speed in the open field.

When you're 250, you're supposed to create the hole sometimes.

Ridley has fumble issues but he does have a noticeable burst that Blount lacks. I say no.

So you want him to block for himself? Or do you expect him to run into a pile of lineman that are bigger than him (some being his teammates) and somehow break free of everybody and take it to the house? Please enlighten me.

I always thought he was a good kid. When he was disciplined, he didn't sulk or complain, at least not publicly. I liked him.

If the price is right I'd say give him a look if all else fell through with other potential backs. Not a bad consolation prize.

Ridley has not had a fumble since November 2013, it's 2016...

Neither Ridley nor Blount are adequate RBs for a superbowl contender, it's been years that we son't have a strong running game and yes, it's on the offensive line but it takes a running back too. There's got to be a better option willing to play for a SB contender, but the Pats will have to pay more than the usual veteran minimum.

we won a SB with blount. got to a few title games with ridley..

as long as the line is strong, it doesnt matter who's back there.
