Gronkowski signed his deal in 2012. It's 2016 so it's not surprising.Kelcey paid more than Gronk
got 5yr/46M, 20M in guarantees
Gronk's was 8/56, 13M in guarantees
Gronk's a wicked bahgain
I agree. I wouldn't look to do anything to his contract until at least after the 2017 season. Why? He has 4 more years on his deal.

'Twice the rate'?
Stupidity, not facts
Kind of hard to not get injured when people are targetting your knee.
Thanks for the IQ assessment. Not sure how I would have gone on with my life without this post....
Learn what a fact is before you go claiming that something is......you've produced nothing but nonsense......you should be glad you didn't reply to someone like Dabruinz...... He would not have nearly as nice
Oh, I HAVE learned the facts honey, don't worry. Let's cover those shall we?
Travis Kelce injuries
1. 2013 - knee injury - required micro-fracture surgery in the off season.
Rob Gronkowski injuries
1. 2009 - herniated disk - missed junior year of college (back surgery).
2. 2011 - high ankle sprain, missed part of the AFCCG, and played hobbled in the SB.
3. 2012 - breaks forearm in a game against the Colts. Required surgery to insert screws and repair the fracture. Came back against Miami in week 17, and then re-fractured his forearm in the playoffs against the Texans, and required a SECOND surgery.
- High ankle sprain was then evaluated further in an MRI, and it was determined that he had suffered a strained ligaments and required surgery.
4. 2013 - Developed an infection in his surgically repaired forearm, requiring a THIRD surgery.
5. 2015 - Suffers a bruised knee, which appeared to linger for the remainder of the season.
- Undergoes a FOURTH surgery in his forearm to replace the plate that was inserted during his second surgery.
- In June, also undergoes a back surgery
- December 2013, tears his ACL and MCL and is done for the season.
- Also re-aggravated his long time back injury and required treatment.
So as you can see, other than his rookie year and 2014, he had been battling injuries in every year he's been with the team. As a matter of fact, I should probably remind you that Gronk was originally a 1st round prospect, but he ended up missing the combine due to his back injuries, and his overall draft stock dropped, and he fell off the 1st round. BB took a chance on him in the second round, which in hindsight turned out to be the steal of the decade.
You want facts, I GOT you facts. Based on these, actually Gronk's injury rate is not double that of Kelce, but more like 10x the rate....
And Sure, Gronk has been in the league longer than Kelce, so naturally he'd be more prone to get injured. But even if you compare his first three season to Kelce's first 3, he was still injured more within that time frame as well.
Did I compare playing abilities? hell no, Gronk will run circles around Kelce. Would I rather have Kelce instead of Gronk even when taking Gronk's injury history into account? ....You'd have to be a complete moron. But the fact of the matter is that Gronk HAS BEEN INJURED WAY MORE than Kelce. THAT'S A FACT! Sure, most of it is bad luck (forearm, hits to the knees, etc.), but you CAN'T ARGUE WITH FACTS! Gronk HAS been injured WAY MORE than Kelce.
Now do me a favor.... get lost.
But in terms of games actually missed.
16 in 6 years for Gronk
15 in 3 years for Kelce.
I was talking in pure injury rate NOT games missed. Jesus, people really need to learn how to read!
Games missed is a huge thing to me not injury rate.
I never said anything about games missed, or that game missed are more important than injury rate. I was just stating a fact about injury rate, that's all. People like to take things out of context and spin it however they see fit, and then have the audacity to come back and call me stupid. Don't appreciate it.
'injury rate' is meaningless without games missed........any idiot could tell you that unless you are that incredibly stupid......I'd say keep trying, but you're already there
troll
Injury rate refers to injury rate, not games missed. I never even remotely insinuated they are related or mean anything with regards to games missed. It's just a stat, you ****ing jackass.
It would be akin to me saying “The days are shorter in the northern hemisphere, so you have less time to play outside”, to which you so moronically counter with “But it’s meaningless, because it’s hotter in Caribbean, so it’s nicer to play outside…” - WTF do the two have anything to do with each other, you ****ing jackass?!?!?!
Way to go Sherlock…. here's your "Gem of Wisdom" cookie....
P.S.
Note to self: Start using the Ignore function. Christ!
in that case, who gives a f*ck what you think.....your notion is of little relevance to football
