"Hmm, a thread on a black quarterback's behavior on a forum populated by mostly 60 billion year old white Trump supporters, this should be a reasoned debate."

-----> NOT <-----

PS I'm bringing back not jokes.

that sounds a little bigoted

just sayin'

Further, boxing isn't exactly a team sport.
Team boxing! That would be awesome! It would revitalize the sport! You're a genius!

well, I have really never given one thought to cam's abilities as a father, but somewhere in this emo ****storm of cam pontification I see he apparently named his kid 'chosen', so I'm giving him a pff grade of -0.3 on that.
to be honest, I dont really give a **** about Cam.

Trying to change the meaning of what he said doesn't improve your argument. He's saying that people can choose to rise and overcome both individually and culturally. He acknowledges that racism is a huge problem, but that some in the black community use past oppression and perceived and real current oppression as a crutch and excuse not to. He also cited that black leaders, including MLK agree with that point. The only way to crush this ******** forever is for everyone to acknowledge the hate and past actions, and move forward together to overcome them.

You disagreed with my post earlier where I said that the rampant misapplication of the label racism was harmful to the cause of overcoming it. That, combined with your twisting of Kontra's meaning clearly demonstrate the flaws of your perspective.
okay sure. you should make sure and go and tell everyone in the black community they need to just get over prejudice.

Newton is a young guy who struggled early in his career managing his emotions. By many accounts, he has done lots of good things in the community. Right now, his team is having a great year and he has emerged as one of the best players in the league. He is a bit of a showboat, but, so far, he has backed it up on the field.

Why not have fun while you can? I say give him the benefit if a doubt - I'd prefer to dwell on the positives. He's a rare physical talent who should be good for the game.

But this is the internet in the new millennium, the place where we go to render harsh judgments about people we don't know very well. We resent it when people do it to Brady or Gronk or BB. I don't know why people have to get so agitated about a young guy expressing himself. It's not like he plays for the jets or is NFL commissioner or something unspeakably vile.

Anyway, I hope the steamrolls Von Miller on international TV. That would be awesome ...

First, I said "some", not all, and second, I'll leave that to the black leaders that are already saying it. Third, I acknowledge that a huge part of the problem is racist or semi-racist white people as well as some systemic problems. Perspectives like yours are part of the problem too.

I think they have that + it's called rioting
I was thinking something with clearly defined, evenly distributed teams in a set area with refs etc. The only weapons allowed would be gloved fists and the occasional ear bite.

like I said in here or somewhere else, when ppl look for attention they usually find it --- if we could get less crying about the 'injustice' of that it would be great.

I've been hating on cutler for, like, the last 7 yrs probably + now all these bandwagoners have been using him for a pinata lately w/o all these posts + tweets from ppl rushing to cape for him -- mostly just more piling on.
must be because he's white, 'cuz if cutty were black I can't even imagine the outcry.
all you guys sticking up for cam going to bat for cutler, too?

I have a question.

If a person wants their children to "marry their own kind" does that make that person a racist?

Did I? I apologize if I missed understood your point.

In simplest form (with all the inaccuracy that oversimplification suggests):
  • General positive or negative inclination toward somebody is not affected be race.
  • Vehemence of the inclination is.
Example: The people who froth at the mouth and hate Obama wouldn't like him even if he were white. But their hatred might not be as strong.

It's a good thing I didn't pre-emptive race card this one, now I'm not liable for all the racist **** people have said here.
What exactly is some of the "racist ****" people have said here?

I have a question.

"Our own kind" means human. Voicing a strong preference in the race of the mates of your offspring is a form of racism.

Driving while black is a phrase, not a point. What stats on stop & frisk?

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/13/opinion/racial-discrimination-in-stop-and-frisk.html?_r=0

At the heart of the Floyd case are statistics showing that the city conducted an astounding 4.4 million stops between January 2004 and June 2012. Of these, only 6 percent resulted in arrests and 6 percent resulted in summonses. In other words, 88 percent of the 4.4 million stops resulted in no further action — meaning a vast majority of those stopped were doing nothing wrong. More than half of all people stopped were frisked, yet only 1.5 percent of frisks found weapons. In about 83 percent of cases, the person stopped was black or Hispanic, even though the two groups accounted for just over half the population.

The city has consistently said that the disparity was justified because minority citizens commit more crimes. But Judge Scheindlin trenchantly rejected this argument. As she pointed out, “this reasoning is flawed because the stopped population is overwhelmingly innocent — not criminal. There is no basis for assuming that an innocent population shares the same characteristics as the criminal suspect population in the same area.”

I only asked because I've heard that statement from people and I've never liked it. Oddly enough, the last time I heard it it came from a man who claimed to be a staunch social liberal

I also know from experiences with one of my sons that people from other countries don't believe in dating out of their race. He dated women in Korea who couldn't tell their parents that they were dating a white man.

Sounds like they're a solid advocate for gay marriage.
