Matt Light says AFC championship game was lost because of snap count. Calls it "an abomination."

So they try to teabag us in Denver and we return the hospitality by blowing them in Foxboro?

"I'll take it another step," Light added. "The snap count, in my opinion, was an abomination. I mean, it was the worst thing you could do to that front five. But the fact that they didn't throw any three-steps and cut the legs out from the defenders early in that game is mind-boggling to me."

Me too Matt, me too.

This stuff just irks me. That's all coaching. They got outcoached as well. You see bad offensive line play in the nfl. Then u see adjustments during the game. That was pitiful. Our defense deserved better
So did Brady. Poor bastard fights to the death over Deflategate only to lose a chance to go to the SB over ****ty line communication and snap counts.

I heard the interview. I'd suggest that if it's available on demand, that it be listened to. While clearly Light thought that the snap count was a strong contributor to the outcome, I got the distinct impression he thought there were other factors involved, as well. I didn't get the sense he thought that was the only problem.

For all the bad coaching we moved the ball in the 4Q. Gronk getting dehydrated , 4th and 1 instead of a first on 3rd and 11, no points to show makes it even worse.
Although bedard said, stork executed the silent count in the first half without problems. Brady said they tried changing the cadence but didnt work. I wouldve tried andrews at center for a series. Couldnt be worse.

That's because von miller about 30%-40% of the time is offside when the ball is snapped. I equate it to brandon marshall rarely ever getting called for OPI even though he commits it a lot.

I was swearing the guy was off-sides almost every play - I thought the sack at the 2 would certainly be called back.

Which makes losing hfa even more painful.

But then again, its easy to say in hindsight. But edelman could have played and broke his foot and its a different story
It wasnt an inactive Edelman that was the reason we lost that game, it was the brilliant game plan..

SO Dan Koppen, Matt Light, and Matt Chatham noticed this but none of the current players or coaches did?
HUGE oversight and definitely an agenda item for the new offensive line coach...

Ouch. Need to keep reminding myself that it is better to lose an AFCCG than a SB...if only I really believed it.

Coaches taking a beating after this one, and now from a former player. Difficult to believe that BB was unaware of crowd noise in Denver and failed to arrange snap count contingencies. If true, however, we were doomed from the start.

Only thing I can think of is that BB and JMD went through the "are we good" list w/ Googs and in the meetings he a) lied to CYA or b) assumed the players were good when they weren't.

Glad to see heads rolling on the coaching staff. They blew it this year and that includes BB failing to win 1 game out of the last 3 to seal HFA. This one is not on the players. Coaching staff gets a D+ this year.
