NFL conducting comprehensive investigation of Manning

Who cares, the Super Bowl will be his last game, he will retire. How can he be suspended ? When I read this my first thought was big ****ing deal. That's like impeaching Obama next January.

If he is found guilty of taking HGH, his legacy is tainted. This is MUCH MUCH MUCH worse than whatever they think they have on brady with deflategate.

And therein lay the rub, he is retiring after this year so they can find him guilty and look like they are about the right thing, with no penalty. Notice NO action will be taken BEFORE the Super Bowl, even though this massively affects competitve balance. This is all just a show investigation.

Whether he plays next year or not is irrelevant. If that this ****head did something illegal, I want it to be KNOWN. I want an asterisk next to his 'legacy'.

It's pretty telling that they want to do this investigation on their own, rather than with the feds

The NFL is in a bad spot because of MLB. If MLB finds it all true what does that say?
IMO this is what's going on... MLB and the Feds are investigating the Al Jazeera report, but the NFL declined to participate with them. Then, they immediately announce their own investigation independent of the MLB/federal one. What this means, I think, is that the NFL will basically not do anything until the other guys do, then agree with whatever those guys say and pretend like they came to the same conclusion. That way, they can appear like they "did the right thing" without actually assisting in the investigation at all. If they're forced to reveal Manning as a cheater by outside parties, they will, but they're not gonna actively help make it happen.

If TB gets 4 game suspension for 'more probable than not of being generally aware', I want this ****ing horse-head banned for a year and stripped of his (single) ring.

Lucky he's retiring after this game. Oh well, it's funny how its his name being dragged through the mud now in nearly the exact same situation.

You guys really think this is his last game? Maybe his last game with Denver, but right now he is tied at 186 wins with Favre and there is no way this regular season stat stealing guru is going to leave the game without taking that record over!

MLB has no interest to protect Manning. If in its own investigation it finds Sly's accusations to be true it will taint Peyton and perhaps force the NFL to act.

If there's such a thing as karma or fairness in this world, then the mainstream media will pick this up and run it as their lead story for the next two weeks - "Starting QB of Super Bowl team under fire for allegations of HGH use, NFL announces investigation" - causing a major distraction for the team. Unfortunately for them, I don't think Denver is quite prepared to weather that storm...

I'll patiently wait for a reporter to ask Peyton during a news conference "what will we tell the children?"

Hmm. This will be interesting because it also has implications for the Packers. If there is smoke there, half of the Packer's defense could be suspended next season and it could possibly uncover other names associated with Sly.

Agreed! I'm probably the only person who doesn't think he'll retire. He's posturing because he loves the attention and the money. Regardless, Brady will probably take over the record by the time he retires anyways.

NFL is so like FIFA.

They think they are above the law.

Thinking about a franchise in England, if they were too, they wouldn't be so protected over here as they seem over there. FIFA chose Switzerland as a base for a reason. The reason all the corrupt **** is coming out is because the FBI followed the money trail and were only able to prosecute because the bribes and money used was in dollars... it was that simple. The way the NFL acts is so similar, especially in its arrogance.

When the corruption started, they ran with there own in house investigation. Paid Michael Garcia (our Wells report) and then even changed the report before it was released (our Wells report).

Amazing, so many similarities,

Hmm.. Perhaps the NFL will learn from this and change NFL player salaries. All players will no longer be paid United States currency and will instead be paid in IntegriDollars, redeemable for visits with the Commissioner, buy-one-get-one free at Subway, and Amazon.com gift cards.

MLB and the USADA say they are investigating it, nfl says they won't join them, then a couple hours later they claim they are going to to do their own investigation.

You have to be a complete idiot to not see what is happening here.

Well according to Greg Aiello, they are participating in the investigation with MLB and the USADA.

All for show. Manning is retiring after the Super Bowl, so the NFL will bury this "investigation". If it is confirmed later in the outside investigations the NFL will just say there is nothing they can do as Manning is now retired. Their "investigation" is a sham.

I also think a factor is the NFL wants an investigation they can control. If they are involved with the USADA/MLB investigation, then that limits their ability to dictate the outcome.
