Alshon Jeffrey.

One post on a Bears forum is suggesting a $65 million over 5 years contract for Jeffery, $13 million a year. You guys may not want to get your hopes up too much.

offensive line is the first priority. then a RB. then a WR.

Jones is nowhere near the player that Von Miller is. Jones got caught with synthethic pot, so I suspect this wasn't his first time he did drugs. If so he needs to get his head straight before he can even think of being a great pass rusher in this league.

You do realize Miller's history right? Maybe he was actually trying to emulate Von Miller both off and on the field! Some of the best pass rushes in history were on a lot of things, so let's not hold that against C. Jones solely.

Cj is a dream! Would take way to much cap space. We have bigger holes to fill.
I wouldn't say it's a dream taking everything into consideration. In fact, it could be the perfect storm.
1. the Detroit GM is BB friendly
2. CJ contemplating retirement (he may reconsider if he wants to win)
3. He certainly knows that if he's coming here it will be on a restructured deal. It's not a dream IMO.
4. We only have a couple of necessary upgrades. We were good enough to win this year. If not for the Solder and Dion injuries (Dion makes those plays that White didn't and I think Seabass and Solder would have played better than Seabass on the left and Cannon on the right), we'd be talking about how good of a game it will be vs. Carolina. A receiver like CJ is one of the necessary upgrades this team needs to make.

Anyon have a rough idea of how much we are under cap now or will have

I believe 5-6 million under now, but can free up around 20 million according to Miguel. Ways to do this are not picking up Mayo's option, cutting Lafell, Scott Chandler, Marcus Cannon, and restructuring Amendola

This may be a knee-jerk reaction to Sunday, but I'm surprised how many people are asking for a big WR here. We HAVE the offensive weapons, and we've seen how good the Pats can be when there is time to throw.

Yes we have do have offensive weapons, but we don't have much depth to protect against injuries. I think that's the biggest piece people are looking for. You saw what happened when Gronk and Edelperson were out. Those two and Lewis are damn hard to contain, but I think we need to layer more depth in there. A Jones, Sanu, or Kearse type (ie; not HUGE money, but maybe more than typical) would help with that depth.

20 mill would be a nice chunk of $$

I agree on Miller, Matthews and Curry. I have a feeling Miller might be out of our price range, but Matthews could be a fit.

Miller is going to get close to Demarco Murray money as the best FA RB available, Pats won't touch him. Curry is going to get north of $35million from a rebuilding eagles team that is making him a priority. Can't imagine Pats will be interested in (paying) for a scheme specific player who was only able to produce in one system, and that was as a part time player.

I like Matthews though as a possibility.

Just because Miller does drugs it doesn't give CJ the green light to go ahead and do it as well. Miller is a top 3 LB in this league. He has much more talent.

I think Bill will make trades and utilize the Free Agent market more than usual to make up for the fact that Kraft gave away 2 draft picks for nothing.

Just a question, it's not something I'm necessarily advocating but does anyone think it worth having James White take Amendola's spot as WR. Amendola is fine and worth bringing back if they can get his cap cost down but White is playing, for all intents and purposes as a WR now - he certainly isn't worth much as a runner but he might be good enough to be a #3 receiver. Just a bit of lateral thinking which would allow us to roster a better receiver/runner at RB to cover Lewis (Josh Ferguson of Illinois for example).
Yes I have been saying this for a few. He is actually bigger than Edleman He had 16 targets in the game. He was not used at the beginning of the season and still wound up with 4o receptions and 4 TDs. Obviously TB has trust in him. With Lewis back hopefully, he could save a roster spot with two positions. Amendola is 30 and White is 23. White is 5'10" and 205lbs. Danny 5'11" and 190lbs. Danny has a big CAP number.I love Danny as a tough little player but he has been dinged his time here too and missed games.
Have White learn the whole passing tree this off season.

Chris Ivory, thoughts?

Don't wink. I was seriously thinking the same thing about a week ago. It's a possibility. If CJ wants to play on a serious contender in the twilight of his career I think BB and BQ can swing a deal.
The league will never approve of this deal but they can try.
CJ has a 24 million dollar CAP hit on the Lions. They save $11mm if they cut him. He will still demand $10mm-$12mm. If the Pats can sign and Trade and sign him with a big bonus fine but they will not pay him over Revis $. CJ is at $15mm this year.

I've heard that the Vikings will probably have to cut Mike Wallace due to his cap hit of 11.5m

If we are looking for a deep threat then maybe he might be possible. He follows the dollars though so maybe hard to get him in the mindset of playing for a winning team.

This years WRs are terribly thin on quality. A lot of LaFell quality really.

3 down runningback
O line
Michael Floyd type of receiver
Drive Lafell Flemming,Cannon to the airport
Lewis is our 3DRB. We need a better first and second down guy. Blount is overrated. We could really use someone good to take the pressure off our 39 year old (GOAT) QB.

He did well on all downs, running and catching, but yeah, he's not a "prototypical" running back who can carry a work load. He's also been injury prone his whole career since Pitt. I love what he gives us when healthy. Just a nightmare for defenses.
