Anyone notice something like deja vu?

I wish there were a science to preventing injuries. If I were Belichick I'd certainly be looking into it.
Milk it does the body good!
Can Vitamin D Deficiency Result in Athlete's Injuries?
More professional and college teams think they have found a cutting-edge advantage hidden in one of the most basic nutrients: vitamin D.

Our defense is elite. It will be far better than 2010-2013.

I think the outlook for the defense in 2016 is outstanding. It's not unreasonable, IMO, to expect them to be a top-5 unit that can absolutely take over a game.

Interesting piece. Low D is tied to many health issues and very hard to get in food. With the Patriots being in the NE, they may be more prone to deficiency than Southern teams. Done lots of Googling lately since I'm in Maine and deficient myself.

"dominate" is a verb. "Dominant" is an adjective.

I'm excited, but I'm not going to hold to my breath. It's easy to say, "we were ravaged by injuries this year. Next year, we'll be healthy and will be poised to make a big run." Well, what if we're ravaged by injuries again next year? There's no guarantee we'll stay healthy.

But hey, let's hope we make a strong run next year and pull it off!

It's possible the big issue with winning the Superbowl is that every puts off rehabbing and getting back in football practice/off season training later than they did the year before because of all the celebrating. Which might be at least part of the reason the Pats got so banged up this year. Hopefully the law of losing means they get back to work early and quickly get their bodies right for the rigorous year next year.

That's why I give my fiance lots of D, want to make sure she stays healthy :)

Jesus ****ing christ.

We were banged up? This is the excuse everyone is bow conjuring up?

How about we ****ing blame canon for being absolute ****.

Or edleman for disappearing.

This is why people he us.

Brady could land 3 td on the broncos and that's why we lost. He was awful early. Our offensI've line was embarrassing and our defense kept us from getting our ****ing assess handed to us like it did two years ago.

We lost and it wasn't even close. We deserved it and I blame the coaching

Sigh, you can't win every year. Obviously the issues were with the line. Brady didn't even have 2 seconds to throw sometimes. Getting hit by 250+ guys all game long is going to rattle anyone. It's a miracle he even gave us a chance to tie the game at the end. The line is what needs to be fixed. With a healthy line playing better than paper cut outs, and Dion Lewis back in the game, that offense will be unstoppable just with the players we have. If we were to add a bruising running back that could pick up 600 tough yards, and and X receiver that could be a 3rd option that could get 500 - 600 yards in a season, we win the SB in 2017 without breaking a sweat

Here's the science…. When you throw it 40-50 times a game, you have more chances for your skill players to get injured.

Maybe we should have a balanced attack instead of airing it out 40-50 times a week. The more you throw, the more opportunities for your QB, WR, and TE to get hurt.

Well, there's certainly more chance for the QB to get hurt on a passing play rather than a handoff. Ditto the receiver.

But on a running play the RB has more chance of getting hurt, and I think the blocking collisions are generally more violent as well.

Manning has a chance to be the second Denver HOF QB to retire immediately after winning a Super Bowl.

And who better to talk him into that choice than the first one?

this game was total deja vu from the 2013 game. I had the same pit in my stomach too. we kept it closer at least.

One cannot be certain. Gronk and several others may have been playing hurt. We shall find out over the next few weeks.
This team was far from healthy.

last time we were champs our season ended in denver

just like this season. tb12 2-7 at denver...not good at all.

I can't stop thinking about not taking the field goal... I hope Brady asked Belichick what the hell he was thinking.

It's a common error to assume that Belichick micromanages during the game. The idea to go for it was probably originally McD's and subsequently Brady's, and I imagine BB asked them "are you sure?" before assenting.

In his post-game presser, BB answered that "he had absolutely no qualms about the call" rather than saying he was at fault which he could easily have done as he is man enough to do so (and has done so in the past). That tells me that he is refusing to throw McD or Brady under the bus for the decision to go for it.

2007 Patriots too dominant league steels a draft pick.
2014 Patriots still too dominant league steals two draft picks.
2021 Patriots STILL too dominant league steals all their draft picks?

Team was pretty healthy in the end though. Much better than 2013. Anytime you waste a healthy Gronk is a real bummer.
The Pats listed 14 guys as questionable.
