Patriots 'part ways' with OL coach Dave DeGuglielmo

It would make sense that possibly the firing ties into the development of the rookies? BB didn't see enough ?
I didn't see enough either. It's easy to blame the coach. I'm pissed at the plwers too. BB is to forgiving. After the last sack, I wanted to cut all of them.

How the Patriots' offensive line jelled in time for a Super Bowl run | The MMQB with Peter King

The quotes I was looking for are in here. His working conditions were not ideal, he got to know about Mankins trade at the same time as the players. I thought that was not cool on BB's part.
this makes me happy to know I wasn't getting bunk info. I know a few more details such as, Gug wasn't given a proper office or desk which was a complete turnaround from his previous gigs where he had his own office and space. He was honored to be here and liked it but he was having a hard time adjusting to the way things were run. It sounds like BB wanted more of a manager than coach... googs role was to listen to BB and project the message to the players. Somewhere in that process something went wrong. What BBs vision was to reality was way off and something had to be done. Prob best for all involved.

Thar interview tells alot without saying it flat out , just read it and it fits perfect with the info I got. He was in charge of making sure the players got the basics and principles down and would be given a game plan to prep for each week. Very little say. Perhaps if Goog passed the test of time he could become one of the BB guys who is given the freedom to add their personal touch

That may all be true, but then again he seems to have have been fired from his last two jobs and in both, complained in the background about not having enough input. I sense a trend here.

He's probably a good manager , not a good coach..the gms and HCs value his preperation just not his philosophies

I wonder if some of these injuries were due to poor coaching. That might explain some things.

Could be, but they sure did not look prepared for what Denver threw at them. I will say it is probably very hard to come in as an oitsider without a past history with BB

Adios, after the performance in Denver I'm not sorry to see him go.

To be fair, he had an extremely challenging job in front of him this year, on account of all of the injuries. But to say that he failed to rise to the challenge would be an understatement.

Holy crap.

Well, goes without saying that there were issues.

Looks like BB needed a fall guy:p

I understand the hot take right now is the pass protection, but what pissed me off the most is back field tackles of our Rbs. They couldn't beat their man for more than 3yds a carry?

He deserves to be gone, and I'm not sad to see him go. I hope he succeeds wherever he goes though.

I will say this: he DID glue the '14 oline together and made it hold up against that Seattle D. He played a major role in our SB win.

A school of thought says it was Connolly who actually helped jell the OL last year by inviting them to his house, having dinner together and watching film off hours together. His retirement was also a major blow coupled with the IR of Wendell.

Solder-Connolly-Stork-Wendell-Vollmer wasn't really gluing the OL together in that one. That was the starting 5.

After this season's performance by our line culminating in yesterdays masterpiece, this can't surprise anyone!!!

 Something had to change.

I don't believe that for a minute. He's the guy running these guys through daily drills and film work. I am CERTAIN That BB took Guugs for his word on who should play and who shouldn't. Handing that Center job back over to Stork after Andrews proved he was the better player is a recommendation from the OLine coach. Not replacing Cannon with the better player Waddle is another mistake that had to have come from over-Loyalty of the OLine coach.
Waddle was hurt. Andrews got manhandled in his last start

Don't know how much of the mess was his responsibility and how much was the need for a scapegoat and/or fresh beginning, but it makes sense.

After all the injuries, I'd imagine that they'll also be reviewing the entire "Strength and Conditioning" regime and coaches.
Well..one yr doesnt need an overreaction. We won it all last with relatively few injuries. This is a very non patriot like move. Not saying good or bad. Iam sure there is more to it than we know. BB doesnt fire coaches day after the game or do any knee jerk reactions.

To be fair we have not had a HOF line ever. We always got away with brady playing like brady and a decent running game. Over the yrs both dont exist so the line is exposed.
