I wonder if someone on the OL was tipping off the Broncos

all we had to do was beat the jets OR the fins.

just one of those two games, and we might be in the superbowl.
The jets game I can't be too upset at but... The pooch punt vs. eagles and that first half vs the dolphins are hard to just shake off now. Unbelievable .

Hmmm. I don't see either guy move until the ball is snapped. Maybe my eyes are going bad :)

in other words it came down to HFA.

Yes you are absolutely correct, although, in the absence of HFA, I would also point out that having merely the threat of a running game that could take the pressure off of the passing game and open up play action would have helped yesterday too.

watching that gif also exposes how bad the play call was. the DE was free to zero in the on the qb as everyone was faking run right. one of the worst play calls considering the situation and how the game was going (which was very badly vs the pass rush)

I thought the pats were better coached than this
There's only so much that can be done with silent snap counts. Verbal cadence is out the window when the offense can't hear the QB.

Stork has been a disappointment this season. The OLine was playing OK with Andrews at the center. Inserting Stork's @ week 10 distruppted the chemistry. The rookies in the middle of the line started to play like the rookies especially Mason.

Although I admit Mason had his fair share of growing pains , last night he was probably the best olineman ......which tells you all you need to know about how poorly we played.

I'm curious to see if the Patriots add/draft a guard/center this off season.

No, their coach sucks, in fact most here could do better, just ask them. Hell you could do a better job.
Well played. Needed that chuckle.

this is ridiculous. you can't criticize the HOF coach? He is beyond making bad decisions? everything he touches is gold? Even BB admitted that he makes mistakes in DYOJ.

besides i was talking about the coaching in general - wasn't specifically pointing to BB. It could have been Goog.

I don't know if coaching does much in this situation. This is what home field advantage is all about.

vollmer clearly is out of place at LT. He didn't even bother blocking Ware?
This came up a few years ago, and Mankins confirmed that it's not uncommon for the tackle to crash inside and leave a guy unblocked. It often goes unnoticed because that guy crashes down the line too and takes himself out of the play. I think this particular example falls on the play caller and not the blocker, because that's clearly a point in the game where the Broncos weren't respecting the run fake at all.

I think they need bring in 1-2 quality veteran OL in free agency. I like their young interior OL but that performance yesterday was scary and as great as it is that they can get rid of the ball quickly when they need to, but they shouldn't have to rely on it all the time and they had to most of the second half of the year and paid for it. I wouldn't mind seeing them draft a young tackle high though.

Ware & Miller are jumping the snap on Stork's lower-raise head routine at center. Need to change snap count

stork was the center for the November game. the broncos must have picked up on something from their film study.

That's what happens on the road in a noisy environment. This is why you need to have HFA.

Notice Brady at home, yelling "52's the MIKE, blah-blah, Gronk, get back!, blah-blah..."

On the road he cannot be heard. It's all silent count. Everything that Brady sees through all his years of experience do NOT get communicated because it cannot be communicated, perhaps even in a HUDDLE. There is just the use of a pre-determined physical signal for snapping the ball. Of course it should be varied as much as possible, but defenders will have a huge advantage since it can't be changed often, absent a timeout.

I thought they were outcoached yesterday on the offensive side of the ball I just think all, three Monday morning chirping about people here knowing better is ridiculous. The bottom line is that if your opponent is getting a great pass rush with 3 guys you are pretty much screwed.

sometimes it's the subtleties in this league that determine a winner and loser. something so innocent as a head bob on every snap that tips off the broncos d line should have been addressed by the coaches. If this were the jaguars coaching staff I can understand. but my point was that this is very uncharacteristic of a belichick-coached team. WE are the team that usually pays attention to the details, not Denver.

My friends and I were wondering whose job it would be to pick up on something like the 'head bob tell' in the middle of the game. Gotta be someone in a booth right? Not evident from the sidelines. Of course, you'd rather notice it by watching film before the game starts, but is it possible to notice it in game and make an adjustment?
