Broncos are going to get killed in the SB

I think the championship games are usually the best games of the season. The Super Bowl has usually been a lopsided affair of 10 or more point wins. If you add in the usual Manning choke to his already noodle arm I expect a Denver drubbing.

I will hope for a repeat of SB48 but more than likely the Donks keep it close. That Panthers team can be shut down. I am planning a nice trip out of town that weekend and don't plan to watch the game. I'll check the score after it's over.

The Panthers are 17-1 and the 1 came from a division game on the road which is a situation where weird crap happens. The Panthers cannot be "shut down". And they have been playing the best football in the league, by far, since November. Kind of the opposite of the 2007 Pats which started strong and then fell off.

Can't explain why, but my usual animus against Manning is gone, he almosts appears as a sympathetic figure now, as he is so aged and broken down, and knows, that we know, he had to resort to using HGH to get back on the field.

Regardless, IMO Carolina is going to SMOKE Denver, whose best shot will be if they are lucky enough to get Manning injured and knocked out of the game.

Unless Newton tears an ACL, or something similar happens, the NFC will reign this year.

Also, lets not underestimate the emotional toll and enervating pressure Manning will be under as during this two week break before the game all the national press and TV stations will be covering the Manning HGH story 24/7. (sarcasm)

West coast teams that travel east struggle to win.
Right. That explains it entirely. (insert gif of rolling eyes here)

The NFL script is already written to send Peyton out on top.

If Ray Lewis can have a nice send off surely Peyton deserves one as well.
Doubt it. I expect the NFL is enthusiastic about him handing the baton off to Cam as the face of the 'new' NFL, hip and relevant!

Yeah, I don't think there's any way the pats win this game either if they advanced over the Broncos
That's actually the bright side of this game for me, if there is one. I'd much rather they lost in the AFCCG than go to the SB and lose to the Panthers. And after watching the Panthers yesterday, and considering how banged up the Pats are, I'll just take my consolation prize of Peyton getting humiliated again.

Santa Clara is going to be a home game for Denver. Just another reason why they will win over Carolina.

I appreciate your prediction, LARAMBRINGER, but SB49 was basically a home game for Seattle last year, and that didn't help them prevail.

I doubt the split will be as skewed as it was last year.

The grapes are so sour in this thread. As most Super Bowls, the game will most likely be close and there is very little chance that the best defense in football is getting blown out. Could happen, sure, but predicting it makes as much sense as you guys predicting an easy victory at a place where you were 1-5 in your previous six games and where you already lost once this season. The Panthers are probably the favorites but the Broncos have the much better, more versatile defense between the two teams. That alone could go a long way.
They've been plenty of blowouts. I can think of 15 or more off the top of my head, including 4 of the last 6 Denver appearances. Anyone remember 55-10?

Not going to hate on the Broncos because they beat us ... however ...

I hope it's close ... less than 10 ... don't want them killed it will ruin the game but I do hope they lose.

super salty.

Von destroyed Cam by spying him a year or two back. 7 sacks. 7 sacks.... And that was with a mediocre Denver D.

He's a LOT better player than he was then.

i agree. But so is Denvers Defense.

Lets say Von spies him again. They go man to man coverage.

Who is going to get separation? Ted Ginn Maybe? They literally tripled covered Gronk yesterday at times...

Denver will lose if their Offense struggles. But i dont see CAR offense actually threatening anybody on the defensive side of the ball.

Ruin the game? The team that took us out of the playoffs? No, having it be a close game would ruin the game. I want to see the Broncos loose 59 - 3

I called the Seattle blowout two years ago due to the matchups; I thought that was the worst possible matchup for that Denver team on both sides of the ball and it was.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Denver figures out a way to win this game.

I just don't trust Newton or Carolina like I did Wilson and Seattle in 2013. Wilson can beat you from the pocket; I have doubts that Newton can be forced into the pocket, throw the ball 40 times, and not have multiple mistakes/turnovers. On the other side of the ball, Manning will do the same thing he did against us, which is study tons of film, realize that 80% of his game will managing the offense and ball control-oriented, while he just needs to find a few small weaknesses to attack when needed. If Carolina were to jump out to a lead, all bets are off, but I think Denver's defense will put them out of their comfort zone the same way they did to us.

From a poetic justice side, it would be nice to see Denver lose a heartbreaker, considering all of the heartbreakers they've handed out this season, and having Manning really feel what it's like to lose a SB when he's put the team in position to win. His Super Bowl losses are not the same as Brady's Super Bowl losses. Manning failed the team in crunch time. Brady came through in crunch time, even if it turned out to be too little in the end. Bottom line is, Brady is a fighter, and really scrappy guy who is NEVER out, and that is the reason I've always preferred him to Manning.

I'm sure my pick will change leading up to the game, but my initial one is Broncos 20, Panthers 17. Although the score is similar to yesterday, I don't think they'll dominate Newton as much as they did with Brady, but they'll get some negative plays to kill drives. At some critical point, they'll need Manning to throw the ball and win the game for them, so I have no idea why I'm picking Manning to do that in the Super Bowl...but I just feel like it's their year. They have won plenty of games where they weren't the best team, but they've figured out how to put more points on the board than the other team.

Yeah...uh...you seem to have some kind of weird , selective amnesia...THIS also occurred 2 years ago...how convenient you ignore it...

Your little hero boy was slaughtered and humiliated that day...just as you are and will continue to be going forward...blindly arrogant and extremely low intelligence seem to be hallmarks of you midwestern meth freaks.
