Why did people on this forum want to face Denver instead of Pitt?

i just don't understand that logic, I couldn't believe how many posters were excited when Denver came back to beat Pitt. I was livid, I knew we would roll through Pitt in foxboro. Denver in mile high? Not so much

Posters severely underrated the homefield advantage aspect, not to mention denvers far superior defense to Pitt.

i wanted pitt #1 home field in new england in the playoffs is almost a lock win vs any team puls the history of playing in denver is not good and Brady vs Manning is 90% won by the home team

People who were ignorant of our history in Denver. After yesterday, let it be known that Mile High is the house of doom for the Pats.

Half our fans on this forum are idiots and the other half are "pessimist."

It was a 2 point game that was lost in large part due to a missed XP and refusing to take the 3 points on the first 4th down attempt.

If the Oline played like that last week vs KC, we would likely have lost even in Foxboro. Pittsburgh could have beaten us at home too.

A lot of people on this forum take winning for granted, and look at which matchup would be the sweeter one to win. They wanted Denver because they wanted a storyline. They wanted revenge for 2013, and they wanted to embarrass Peyton Manning in a head-to-head matchup.

The POINT is.....the game yesterday should NEVER have been in Denver in the first place. The game plan against Miami has TONS to do with the loss yesterday, same as in 2013. That was total surrender against the Phins, all those runs, what a waste. I don't care that JE and DA weren't playing. Run for 2, run for 1, then that stupid draw play that every one on the planet knew was coming......TOTAL surrender. Watch other games, when the suck teams have 3rd and long, they actually throw the ball and try for first downs!!!! The Pats had no run game most of the year, yet they still tried. When a car is missing its motor, you don't try to keep starting it over and over.

its almost as if BB was trying to avoid the Jets/Pitt in the playoffs. EVERY time he does this it backfires.

I wanted #1 to play in foxboro. but had the game been already in foxboro, I would have rather the broncos than the steelers. When I was watching last week, both teams looked really inept. The difference? One of them was getting the best WR in the league back to face us if they won.

plus, we had just beaten a team that seemed similar to the broncos. and i was convinced that our offense was back and we were once again invincible to the pass rush like we had been earlier in the year. i didn't want someone that could come and hold their own and outduel brady.

again, wanted to play a home game first, but preferred the denver matchup to pitt

glad to see people disliking and disagreeing without adding anything or discussing... i know how much that pleases everyone on the board

I want the home game every time. But I thought if we were to lose I would much rather it be to the Broncos than the Steelers.

I didn't, I knew playing in denver would be tough. I wanted no part in it. That defense, that crowd, the altitude, the patriots history with not playing well and losing in denver. Literally no reason to wanna go there and think we would just steam roll denver like some here predicted. Home field advantage was the difference this season, IMO. Something we had all but locked up, and chose to throw it away because we didn't value its importance enough. Well, this is the result. Yet another loss in denver. 2-7, congrats. News flash, home field actually does matter.

Eh, from the regular season, it took a completely depleted Patriots roster and the greatest screw job in sports history for the Broncos to win. No one anticipated that the offensive line could block 3 and 4 man rushes, albeit admittedly against a roided up dline.

Ah, well, most of the roster returns next year intact. Upgrade the oline a bit (see ya, Kline, Fleming, and Cannon) draft a solid rb, anD get a bigger WR that can run the deep routes they kept trying with White and we'll be unstoppable next year.

I'll be honest, I was optimistic about going to Denver this year. Boy was I wrong, and learned my lesson. I will always, henceforth, advocate for HFA.

Because people spent the whole season underestimating Denver. No idea why, but having to go to Denver for the AFCCG was the clear worst case scenario from the moment the Pats no-showed weeks 16 and 17.

and bc they lost to the raiders at home!

So if the Pats had gotten the number 1 seed, hosted and lost to Denver what would the "coulda, shoulda, woulda" excuse been made since according to some on here, it would of been a lock to beat Denver at home? I'm not trying to stir things up and I am speaking from experience that playing the "what if" game isn't a healthy thing to do.

Home field would not have been the reason we lost. In this case, it was. No "what if" is necessary despite the irony of your post.
