If it Went to O.T. (sorry to tease)

Would you have wanted to kick off or receive ? I know what happened in NY but if it went to O.T., the way both offenses were playing I would have kicked off.

Actually, the way the offenses were trending, I would have felt comfortable either way. The Patriots had gone on three straight "successful" drives, getting the ball deep each time. In a situation where they're not trailing, they could have at least kicked a field goal each time. On defense, Denver's last 6 drives included 1 field goal, 5 punts, and 4 three and outs. I would have felt good about OT in either scenario.

When if's and but's are candies and nuts, we will all have a wonderful Christmas........

I'm not saying we should have won. Just a question on what you would have done, I think it's interesting.

Heh. I really didn't want to go there because the usual people would come out of the woodworks but now that you asked the question. I would have opted to kick off, put the game in the hands of our defense and then tried to score a game winning FG in the thin air of Denver.

I think I would have wanted to receive in order to prevent their defense from resting.

If it did happen, I'd be fine kicking off and restarting the field position battle. I'd feel ready good about holding Manning deep in his own territory and then getting into FG territory for the win.

That is actually an interesting point I didn't consider.

Kick off. I trust our Defense more than our offense.
But thanks for bringing it up.
It's like having your significant other leave you at the alter and as she walks aways, she asks "In case we DID get married..."

Either way, there's a good chance we would have won. Denver's offense looked worse than ours did in the 2nd half. Our offense had finally started moving the ball towards the end of the game.

Ghost would have had an opportunity to redeem himself for the missed XP.
